I've been getting PT for the problem described in this thread
http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?t=26637
and I am getting better but very slowly.
Today instead of working with my usual PT I worked with an athletic trainer at the office. She had reviewed my chart and spoken at some length with the PT about my injury and treatment, and she did some really good deep tissue massage.
She said that, based on my history and what she felt in my calf, compartment syndrome was a strong possibility. I haven't had any tests done for this yet -- so this is not a diagnosis. But I wanted to see if anyone here has had any experience with compartment syndrome -- if so, have you been able to keep it under control? Did you opt for surgery? Etc. I hope she is wrong, from what I've read it is potentially fairly limiting for runners.
thanks!
