This isn't really super important, but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this:

I tried a new flavor of Nuun today (Tri-Berry) and as my ride home progressed, the color of the drink changed from a nice, light pink, to a yucky, pale orange-brown. The flavor didn't seem to change (quite yummy, in fact) but as the contents warmed up in the sun, the color became...well...unappealing.

Previously I have only used the Orange-Ginger flavor (also quite yummy) which starts off as a pale, orangey brown, so any color deterioration would be sorta undetectable, I guess. :p

Just thought it was kinda odd...

The colorings that NUUN uses are all natural (I recall they use beet coloring for reds), so there's a possibility that something else you had in the bottle may be affecting the color. Acids can change the red to something else, I think.

good call--since there are natural dyes in the flavors, the sun will suck the color out of nuun if exposed for long periods of time. it shouldn’t taste differently, it will just be clear. and more difficult to tell what flavor you spiked your bottle with. it doesn’t have any effect on the electrolytes, either. better than yellow # 5!
