Have any of you had this surgery or a similar one for pelvic organ prolapse? How long did it take you to recover and be comfortable on the bike again after the surgery? Have you been happy with the results? Seems to be a lot of negative posts about this type of surgery on the web.

I dunno, but it seems like people post bad experiences on the web WAY more than good ones. Maybe talk to your doctor(s) about your concerns?

+1. When I went in for my cervical fusion, I read all kinds of garbage on the web about botched operations. Even had physical therapists diagnose me over the web & say that it would fail (!) and that I should not have it done.
When the spine doc did it, he found that a vertebra had impaled itself onto my spinal cord. The doc was surprised that I didn't complain more about pain & numbness. If I'd listened to the web specialists, I might be having some very serious irreversible damage right now.
Finally, I think (without any scientific backing - my opinion only) that we cyclists have a higher pain tolerance than the average person. Think about how we're crunched down in an unnatural position, sitting on a hard slice of leather for hours. And at the end, we declare that it was "great, fantastic, can't wait to do it again." :D
