Hi,
I recently got a new MTN bike and I'm thinking of selling my old one on Craigslist. The one I want to sell was my first MTN bike and it's a very basic one.
Do you think it makes sense to try to sell it now or to hold onto it for the winter and sell it at the beginning of the biking season next year?
I don't have a problem with storing it for the winter. I'm thinking I may get a better price if I wait until next year.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I would think the spring would be best. But, it couldn't hurt to try now. If you don't get the asking price, just hold onto it. I have limited experience with ebay, but I know there's a way to search for completed sales. To help figure out a price. If it shows the dates/seasons of the year, you could compare what the timing difference might bring you. But, this is coming from an analytical freak:o. My only other thought is that someone could use it for a winter commuter bike that they don't mind getting roughed up by the elements. Maybe an ad point for now. Good luck:).

Thanks! You raised a few points that I didn't think about. I appreciate your help. I'm not sure if the winter commuter angle will sell it since it only rains here in San Francisco, but it's worth a try.
