I looked out at my mailbox and there was a big package hanging on the flag. Oh boy! I ran (ok, I walked briskly ;) ) to get it and brought in in the house to discover all the little treasures inside. It was like Christmas morning! I received a neato water bottle filled with goodies, reflective thingies and a compass to find my way home, a NiteRider light--way cool!--and reflective stickers which is PERFECT! The postcard was pretty neat too. I'm pleased as punch! Thank you, Secret Sister. :D
Where was the postcard from?

Thanks to a mystery sister in Galveston, TX....
I got a new light that fits my handlebars. WONDERFUL! My other one I had to hold in my hand the couple of times I needed it b/c it didn't fit my bars. I'm VERY excited to try this one out!
And the goodies will keep me going for several long rides.
THANKS AGAIN!
It came the day after my birthday, so kept the fun going! :D

And a big thank you to my mystery SS from the UK. Unfortunately the jam (?) didn't make it across the Atlantic. And dang it all but it really smelled good!! But the patch kit and the pant leg clips will come in very handy! My package was waiting for me when my sisters and I returned from Paris, and I had been telling them about the board and the SS fun, and then they got to witness it first hand. Perfect timing.
Thanks again, whoever you may be. :)

Oh no!!! I'm sorry about the jam! I must not have packaged it up very well. Sorry!

I received a wonderful package this week too! I've been curling up on the couch with some super comfy cozy socks every night this week. And the chocolate disappeared within minutes. And thank you for all the other little treats too! A wonderful surprise!!!

No need to apologize!! You never know with the mail, not your fault! Was it homemade? It did smell wonderful! :) The other items are great and will get a lot of use!

I can’t wait to get in on the next SS group! Sounds like great fun getting something other than bills in the mail!! I would so dearly love to get a new pair of cycling socks. My DH doesn’t understand why I can’t just wear my regular sports socks, but my cycling socks fit so much better and are much more comfortable. Plus, since I am most definately a “Fredwina” when I ride, my socks are my own little way of expressing my fashion sense - I love the colors and designs and they make my feet happy. Well, now that I have dropped a HUGE hint on what to get me in the next SS thread, I will go wash my one little lonely pair of socks and get ready for tomorrow’s ride!

Thanks so much my SS. I was in the middle of doing a really annoying project at work when the mailman delivered my special package from New Zealand.
I have never had any Ground Effect products before and I think they are really cool.
I've been trying to stretch out my outdoor running for awhile before I switch to the boring treadmill inside. The beanie will be such an improvement in keeping my ears warm compared to the baseball cap that I've been wearing. It is so comfy soft too. Yes, you are right it will also be perfect for snowboarding .... and even the cross country skiing that I keep telling myself I have to get back into again.
The little case is a great size for sports. I recently switched to a smaller cell phone and it slides right into one of the pockets. My phone is even orange and black to match the case ... and there's still plenty of room for other essentials.
Thanks again SS (Cheryl)
P.S. I finally got my SS stuff all together today and it's going out tomorrow or Monday. I promise .... don't loose hope my SS.

sj..I had you before as a ss & I couldn't decide what to send you this time :o I don't live near any snowboarding shops...I thought some Ground Effect stuff wouldn't go amiss!
I hope you get lots of snow this winter for snowboarding :D
Welcome to the Ground Effect revolution ;)

A big THANK YOU to my Secret Sister! Your package was a much-needed break this afternoon, sandwiched between a history lesson on Henry Knox and the Siege of Boston and an Algebra lesson re: graphing polynomial equations.
Chocolate is THE major food group in our house (for the females anyway), so the truffles were consumed in a flash. The reflective stickers and the lights will certainly get a work-out now that rainy, gray, overcast autumn is here! Getting ready to make some of the tea right now so I can snuggle up and watch the second half of the Colts game.
Thanks for brightening my day!!!

Hoosier -- so glad to hear it all arrived in the box! The post office lady was not doing much of a packaging job, and I was afraid all the bits would fall out between here and there and you'd get nothing but stuffing!!!!:D
Glad you all enjoyed it!
I have to admit... the truffles ALMOST didn't make it your way, or out of my house for that matter!

I found some neat stuff while I was on vacation. Now that I am home I just need to get it boxed up and dropped in the mail

THANK YOU THANK YOU to my Secret Sister! The first thing I pulled out of the box was the "Big Cheese" socks -- I love 'em! And the t-shirt is super cool, too. Big thumbs up!!! Not to mention the book -- I am not familiar with your part of the country, and had no idea how amazingly beautiful it is. I'm going to have to make it a cycling destination one summer. Looks like an awesome way to escape some of our Texas heat...but I know I couldn't handle your winters. Brrrr.
Muchas gracias again! :) :) :)

Glad you enjoyed your stuff Jacky. Yes, the winters in the Midwest can get a bit long if you don't find something to keep your mind off the cold and snow. I love snowboarding so at least I can look forward to that once the days get too cold, and the light to short, to do much cycling.
You'll have to make a trip up to WI someday. There are definitely opportunites to do some fun and scenic rides in our area.

I got my box today and it was filled with all sorts of wonderful goodies from my SS in Indiana!!!! First off I got a really nice clip on light which I really needed and some cool reflective stickers. Then there were some packages of microwave popcorn that according to my SS is made in her area, thought that was really neat. Then there was some lotion, hand sanitizer, lip balm, rainbow colored bandaids and some energy bars. Why do I feel like I am forgeting something... Dang it I'm at work and my box is at home so I can't go peek. Anyways, I loved everything so THANK YOU SS!!!!

Thank you thank you Keri!! I went outside to water my pansies last night and saw a little box on the step. I never go through the front door and the postwoman usually locks packages in the boxes so good thing I planted those flowers this weekend! ;)
Thanks for the Frogs, I have been eying those for two years just never buy them for myself. And the saddle bag, I actually needed a slightly larger one but again wouldn't buy one because I have one. LOL. And the bars, guess I need to enjoy this warm fall and do a longer ride because I don't eat on these little 15 milers I have been doing. :p Thanks again for the wonderful box o' goodies.

Glad that you liked everything. I thought the hand balm would be nice since I know anyone in the medical field usually ends up with terribly dry hands from all the handwashing. Since it is in a nice tin, it is easy to slip into our pocket and have it around when you need it!
As for the blue socks, I just picked out the ones that I would have liked...guess we both have good taste in socks!

You are welcome Smilie! My sisters and I were on the lookout for something appropriate to include in the SS package from our trip to Paris. I had no idea if you follow the Tour, but we thought the pins were pretty cool.
Sorry for being so late, I seem to be in a perpetual state of lateness these days!
