So I'm having a similar problem as the many 'burnt out' posts...
I'm burnt out on being active! I've done sports all of my life and continued with rowing through university. I started cycling and love it!!!! But now, I really just don't want to work out. I don't want to push my body, I don't want to go on a walk, I dont want to do yoga or anything like it. I would rather sleep.
I want to get back into being active, and I know that it has a lot to do with me pushing myself... but I just have no desire.
any suggestions besides just trying new classes?

well, like it's been said in all those other "burnt out" threads, maybe you just need a break.

Sometimes you just need a break. The hard thing is to give yourself permission to take that break and not feel guilty. You know you'll get back into it again, so for now, just enjoy kicking back and taking it easy.

There's certainly nothing wrong with taking a break. Perhaps there's some other activity you'd like to pursue over the winter. But before I leave it at that, is there anything else in your life that might explain your lack of motivation? Are you feeling stressed or depredded about anything? Have you gone through any significant changed lately?

Take a break or else you will find yourself getting even less and less motivated. Today I laid out my cycling clothes and then I saw my bed. I had a magical nearly 2 hour nap until my dog woke me. I feel revitalized and totally not guilty about not working out for the first time in weeks maybe even months! :p

do something new and start small. I am just getting back into the gym (yuck)... in prep for colder weather. I do not like the gym... but actually it felt good this week to get back there.
I started small... somewhat. 30min on the stairmaster (I usually do an hour:rolleyes:), and then I ran 2 miles on the treadmill.... (I usually run 6, LOL)... but getting back into that routine is too overwhelming and boring right now so I'm taking it in smaller chunks.
Also, take up some other activity for fun... like sewing, or pilates, or yoga, or another craft perhaps. I started taking horse riding lessons 2 weeks ago and I love it (but I've been wanting to do this for a while)...
I am somewhat burnt out too of biking. Tired of riding with the same group, going down the same streets, eating at the same restaurants, etc, etc...so I changed my course a bit this month... so far it feels good :)

If you'd really rather, literally, sleep, I'd definitely look at whether something's going on in your body. Burnt out is one thing, increased need for sleep is something else.
If you seem to have that about this time every year, it's probably a normal reaction to decreased sunlight - just try to get more during the day, and if that's not possible, try installing full-spectrum light bulbs where you can.
Another seasonal explanation is allergies - don't know what allergens are in season in your neck of the woods, but allergies can cause pretty extreme fatigue and poor quality of sleep.
How long have you felt that way? What were you doing when you started feeling that way - is overtraining a possibility? (if so, it may take weeks to recover)
Otherwise, take a look at your overall health and see a doctor if there aren't any obvious clues.
Of course if you were just speaking metaphorically about wanting to sleep, forget this post :o
