I'm selling my Lemond Buenos Aires, 49cm (men's geometry), since all I am doing now is mountain biking. $1100. The frame is the OCLV Carbon/True Temper OX Platinum version from 2006. The bike originally retailed for $2100. The components are all upgrades for the bike in early 2007. The bike sat all last summer and this summer due to moving to the dark side.
Here's how it is spec'd:
Frame - 2006 OCLV Carbon 120 / True Temper OX Platinum
Fork - Bontrager Carbon
Headset - Cane Creek S2
Pedals - none
Front Derailleur - Campagnola Veloce 10s
Rear Derailleur - Campagnola Chorus 10s carbon
Shifters - Campagnola Chorus 10s carbon
Cassette - Campagnola Chorus 12-26 10s
Handlebar - Bontrager Fit VR 40mm
Stem - Bontrager Race Lite 80mm
Saddle - Bontrager Race X Lite Fit
Seatpost - Bontrager Carbon
Wheels - Bontrager Race Lite
Tires - Continental Ultra Gatorskins 700X23
Brakeset - Campagnola Veloce
Crankset - Bontrager Race Lite GXP 10s, 39/53 teeth, 170mm
I'm also including a Cateye Astrale computer, Timbuk2 small seatbag, two bottle cages, and a Serfas rear blinky light. PM me if you are interested in more pictures. I'm willing to ship within the Continental US. It will be professionally boxed, and freight charge will be what it costs me.
This awesome riding bike just needs a loving home. It has totally been ignored since I got my Salsa Ala Carte - please help me find it a home.

Oh come on - there must be someone interested in this bike. I hate having to send it to ebay.

I really am, but I think it is too small for me. How tall are you? I have never been fitted so I don't know my size. DH says I am 50-51. So........wishing so much for this bike, to be honest.

I love this bike too. 50-51cm is different on every bike. My 46cm Surly is actually bigger (standover and top tube) than my 53cm Burly was. I couldn't find the geometry on a Buenos Aires, but here is a Lemond triophe geometry that may help. Bike4ever told me that the top tube was the same. (You can't get to the Lemond website) I'm 5'4" and this geometry looks perfect for me. You can ask her if the rest of the geometry lines up. She manages a bike shop, so she will know and will give you good information. Just think, campy components!
It would be great if you got it, because I keep looking at it and looking at it and looking at it...

Claudia you are awesome. Thanks for posting the measurements. I was extremely busy this weekend due to two bike events - women's cross on Saturday and the final Short Track dirt crit yesterday.
I'll answer any and all questions. Just shoot. Oh I'm 5'4" - short legs, long torso.

Interesting how we're all different. I would love this bike, but I'm pretty sure it's too small for me. My best fitting bike has a 54.5 cm effective top tube, and I'm 5'4" too:)
Out of curiosity - what's the center of bar to center of saddle (saddle bolt) measurement on her? She's so purdy I'd love to know if she'd work:)

Oh wow.
Temptation is setting in. Your cranks are a tad long for me, but I might be able to swap some over.
That would mean I would have to pick one of my current bikes to sell.

Here are a few measurements - keep in mind it has a short/stubby 80mm stem with 7 degree rise:
Effective top tube measured center head tube to center seatpost - 52cm
Measurement from center seat bolt to headset bolt - 52.5cm
Measurement from center saddle bolt to center handlebar - 59.5cm
I do have an additional Chorus front derailleur for this bike if someone wants to switch to a compact set up.

Wow! Such a beautiful bike. I am a redhead and can see myself riding it!
Just wondering about the size...I am 5'2 and have a 31 inch inseam and currently ride a bike w/ a 507 virtual top tube length and 470 seat tube length. Any ideas if this bike could work for me?

fidlfreek - how did you measure your seat tube? From where to where?

It looks like a great bike. Too bad Zen talked me out of a Lemond earlier this year. It had nothing to do with Lemond, just fiscal responsibility.

I ride a 49cm (5' 4.5"), yet my sister--who's maybe a half inch taller and with longer legs, not longer torso--rides a 54cm bike. Granted it's a smallish 54cm, but it's funny how different our preferred riding styles are as she prefers to be stretched out more.

I'm trying to figure out what benefits a steel/carbon hybrid has - and how that's better than the aluminum/carbon mixture that I currently have.
It does have roughly the same measurements as my current bike, so I think it would fit.

Probably mostly more comfortable. I've never ridden aluminum/carbon, but I know my full aluminum bike would make my teeth chatter on rough roads.
The way the steel and carbon fit together on the Buenos Aires is way different that the carbon seat/chainstay you see on aluminum frames. I've heard nothing but good things about this bike.

I've done my best to avoid test riding full carbon or steel - I didn't want the temptation. I have carbon wheels, handlebars, seatstays, seatpost, and fork on my aluminum frame - which dampens most of the chatter.
I was managing to resist temptation, and then I saw it weighs 18.5 lbs. Now I'm back to lusting and lecturing myself on fiscal responsibility.
The steel and carbon mix on LeMond bikes is awesome. The comforting cushiness of steel and enough stiffness from the carbon to keep it responsive. If this bike were my size, I'd be all over it.

She sold it. Someone got a great deal. Yeah, I bid on it and told my class to hold me back from bidding again...they just laughed.

Although technically it has sold, I haven't received payment yet. Based on buyer's feedback, that shouldn't be an issue. It was a great bike. I'm just possessed with mountain biking right now, and it was a waste just hanging there.
Look soon for a beautiful Salsa Ala Carte!!

I'd have bid, but the measurements were a little small. Ah well.
Hope the transaction goes smoothly.
