LBS group ride. I got some nice compliments from the guys tonight. One guy stopped me afterward to tell me that the A group is going to have trouble keeping up with me pretty soon. I dont know about that but I did ride very well and we averaged 22.4 mph on the 28 mile route. I am very proud of my progress! YAY me!

Wow! I'm impressed with that average speed, arielmoon!

My rides today were mostly commuting-based. I've made a commitment not to drive anywhere in my car this week due to the gas shortage here in Georgia. So, I rode to Lowe's to get a water heater part, then to Kroger for a few groceries, and stopped by Starbucks on the way home.

Total miles: 22 - so hey! I saved at least a gallon of gas today, AND had the joy of riding my bike!

That is great!

I am so envious of those that commute on their bikes. I would really like to find a way to make it work for me. It would be about 17 miles each way and would require some riding in the somewhat dark.

Not a good ride for me:( Hadnt ridden in 4 days because of the rain that weve had here in Maine. I had planned on doing the 20 mile loop today but as soon as I got on my bike I made it to the top of my hill and there were cars passing and turning everywhere and I actually forgot that I was clipped in. So boom! Over I go. In front of all the cars passing. Oh did it hurt this time. I picked myself up and gathered up the water bottles everywhere and got back on and started riding. Went about another mile and had to stop to see what damage I did to myself cuz the knee was killing me. Well long story short I ended up doing the 12 mile route and hoping that tomorrows ride is going to be better but the knee is really killing me still. Its a little swollen and stiff. I really felt defeated on todays ride. I thought I was going to have so much energy but I ended up riding very slow. Oh well theres always tomorrow.

I'm STILL waiting for Trek to replace the cracked fork on my Madone, which I've only had for 4 months. No ride for me. :( Boohoo!

Oh, MrsB and Misandal, those are rotten days for very different reasons. MrsB, I hope you are okay.

We did a 25-mile ride with my daughter in the trailer. All three of us are getting over a cold so it was a little slow-going, but so nice to be riding again. I have hardly ridden all summer ... she's good for maybe three long rides a week before she starts getting crabby, and my husband has been doing them all so I can work while they're gone. Which is great for them, but I never get to ride. She and I are supposed to do the Princess Promenade ride next weekend but I am not sure I am up for pulling the trailer for thirty miles. We'll try again on Wednesday and I'll see if I'm feeling better.

Did a 22 mile intervals ride with my friend. It was my first real intervals ride. I LIKED it! Something different to break up the usual rides and I know it will help my speed.

I would LOVE to average 22 mph!!! (I think I'll need a LOT more intervals!)
