OK, honestly, I just got my *** handed to me by a 65+ year old guy. Larry. Holy ****. My odometer is now at a respectable 144.2 which means that Larry made me ride, um, lemme see, 43.6 miles in under 3 hours. That's no joke, the ride was pretty flat until about 7 miles in, then the hills came fast and steep. Well they started out not so steep, but got alot steeper as we went on. I'm pretty proud of myself for hanging in there on my first real road ride. We went thru Bidwell, out the south side up to Honey Run Road. There is this really cool old covered wooden bridge about 2/3 of the way in. Gorgeous. I snapped a couple pics on my phone, because I didn't have my real camera with me. On one of the downhill stretches, I was up to 43.2 MPH. It was soooooo cool! All in all, I had a great "first" ride. I think I fall in love with cycling even more everytime I get on my bike. I'm pretty proud of myself today. :D

Congrats on your ride. There is nothing more motivating than to watch the odometer continue to go up. At least that was a bit of motivation for me. I understand what it is like to be blown away by others on a ride or two. That is why I have stayed to myself when riding. I have not put on enough miles to contend with those speedsters. If you keep at putting on the miles you will be able to hang with the fast ones.
Good luck and keep at it.

Awesome!!! :D It's such an awesome sense of accomplishment to do something bigger than you've ever done before. As you progress in your riding, you'll be thrilled with each new accomplishment, a longer ride, a faster ride, getting up a hill better than you used to. The list goes on and on.
Congrats on a great "real ride". And here's to many, many more! :D
