I'm up to bike camp in Rossland, again...
My buddy isn't coming this year, it's the same weekend as her SO's birthday and she's not going to miss it for the 4th year. So....
This is my one big annual treat for myself. Any of you PNW/BC mountain bikers want to give it a go?

What is GST?
Man, I'd love to go. My in-laws are probably going to be here that weekend.

General Service (sales?) Tax, for visitors you can get it back on a lot of goods when you leave the country.
The year I first went, the Canadian dollar was 60¢ to 1 US...talk about a bargain....

That is so super cheap! I'd totally go if I had somewhere to stay! I totally have a scad of vacation time left, and would love to do something like this. I dunno though, I try to avoid all female things, my bike club has spooked me. They're um, too into being women sometimes.

Really.Does that make you a golden gooselet? :D That's very generous. I have too much stuff going on!!! We're talking about going to the Cascade Classic also.
Maybe I should just take personal leave for the months of June and July. Let's write our congresspersons and get them to pass a "Bicycle Leave" law sort of like "Family Leave." Surely we can come up with some good rationale.

Sugoi Dirt Series has a one day deal up at Hood River, around the 4th of July.
What is GST?
Goods and Services Tax
yup, we get to pay it on EVERYTHING. 7% Fun, eh?
ah, well, at least we have health care!
:D
The weekend does sound cool. I think this is not the year for me to do it. I've got to get my health issue(s) figured out and decide if I'm doing Test of Metal (I'm #30 on the wait list now....down from 95!) which is June 18. There's a lot of training I need to do before then, but I want to rule out the scary health stuff first before I ramp that back up again.
I bet you'll have an awesome weekend there! Enjoy!

The Sugoi Dirt Series is awesome, if you get a chance to go, go. Even if your an experienced rider you will still learn tons. The coaches are unreal plus it's a really supportive group.

a lot of the same Canadian gals coach for both camps.
Here's what I think is interesting. Canada has not one but two systems for certifying mountain bike coaches, somewhat similar to the system in place for ski instructing (PSIA) There is no similar system in the US
Here are the links:
Canadian Mountain Bike Instructor Certificatio (http://www.wcsmb.com/cmic/courses.html)
Canadian Nationat (mtb) Coaching Certification (http://www.cycling.bc.ca/index.php?id=166)
As I understand it, there is nothing parallel in the states for mtb coaching.

Cmbic is a very specific training course for mountain bike coaches
Cncc is a more generic coaching course.
Both are very important and it's great if you can find a coach that has both. Many of the coaches in BC coach for different org's.
