Just wondering if anyone is about the same sized shoe as me? I have a size 39 & am now curious how tight the 38.5's are??
I have a pair of size 38's & know they're the wrong size :(. They're too tight on the left foot on the left side.
I couldn't decide between the 38.5 & 39's :( They don't stock these sizes at the shops that do sell SIDI's in Perth  TE to the rescue :D
Thoughts? Anyone want a pair of size 38 SIDI's??

I wear size 38s with thin socks for a nice glove tight fit and a very postive link with my pedals. I also have 38.5s to wear in the winter or in very hot weather because my feet will swell a lot. I think there is quite a bit of difference between a 38 and a 38.5 with the 38.5s being almost sloppy loose until my feet swell.

My first pair of Sidis were 39s and they were a tad too small and smooshed the tips of my toes, to the point that it caused pain on longer rides. I went to a 39.5 (still Sidis) and they're just perfect. In my experience, the half size wasn't too much of a difference, but just enough.

I second what Misandal said.. I have Sidi 40's, had a hard time wearing them with a thicker sock. Bought used 41's (sidi's) and they are a dream. So, depending on weather and swelling of feet, I get my pick of which shoe to have.

I am exactly the same. When I was choosing Sidi shoes, I ordered both a 39 and a 38.5 (but they were men's), then returned the size 39. The 39 was way too big and the 38.5 fit MUCH better :) I could not, however, feel exactly how much the fit was off on the size 39 until I also tried the size 38.5.
Just remember to try them with the thinnest socks possible so it fits your foot the best and that your feet will swell over the course of a long ride. :)
Hope this helps.

I'm keeping the 38.5's & the 39's as they feel almost the same. I'm going to do an odd thing tomorrow & wear the 38.5 on my left foot & 39 on my right just to compare.
Also, the 38.5's shall be my summer shoes since they fit with little socks. The39's winter as they fit nicely with my thick ground effect sockies..:D

i think your feet will notice the difference after a few miles biking and they begin to swell.

That's what I've heard too.

Hmm:confused:, I wonder if a mens 40 mega width would fit me then... if the half size is all about the width.
I own the 40.5 womens Zeta now. Fits great, except the ball of the foot. Too tight:(.
I'm having a home shoe shop party with all these Sidis on order:o, and the mega 40 mens is the only one I don't have in attendance:rolleyes:.
I have womens 40.5 and 41, mens 40.5 and 41, mens narrow 40.5, and mens mega 40.5 and 41 on the way. Plus some Superfeet yellow insoles (yellow is suppose to be cycling specific).
I tried to get all my sizing with the buckle strap. I think that should help to correct any heel slip that you get with a bigger mens width. The heel cup of the womens fits great... it's just the ball. I think I've concluded my foot is a flying V with a wide arch.

I was told that the half sizes were for width. just spreading the gossip. ;)I've heard that also and we had lengthy discussions about it on some long lost thread. However, my personal experience and measurements of my own multiple pairs of Sidi Doms and Genius is that the 38.5 shoes are longer than the 38 shoes. Both use the same last, but the length of the upper is definitely longer on the 38.5.
You may just have to try them on.

when I bought my Sidis the guy at the shop recommend I do men's size because I have wide feet but not in the Mega sizes ( I think Mega does not start till 40). the men's sizes gave me more width in my toe box. I can't compare this to the Specialized shoes because I can't remember a fit of a shoe I tried once). This might sound like blasphemy to some of the women in here because a woman's foot is not similar to a man's foot; however, I did not catch any problems with my heel. I am actually quite comfortable with these shoes with exception to my arch. I had to place in some soles that Knotted recommended.

The mens I have at home to try on actually felt better than my womens too. I just got an order with the Superfeet insoles. Dang... I was thinking about posting a pic of how they fit my arch. I almost feel like my arch is still too high for them (yellow). The green say they are for a high arch. I don't know if they would work in a cycling shoe though. My kids got elmers glue on my camera today, so I might have to check my technical capabilities before I can do that.

I don't use the size that the sole is fitted for. I'm not sure if I have a high arch but in comparison to the length of my feet it is a long arch. What I did was I bought the sole that fit my arch since that is what the insole is for ( in my case)- to provide support for your arches. I ended up buying a larger size insole than what is recommended for my shoe size. I have never had any experience with yellow, only berry and green. what is yellow supposedly for?
