Last year I bought a Gore jacket with the zip off sleeves. I like the design concept BUT.......I burn up in it. I've tried it with and without sleeves in the colder temps and it's like a sweat suit for me. :p Anyone else experience the same thing? :(

I love my Gore Passion Plus jacket; it's one of my favorite pieces of gear. I don't typically get too hot in it. What kind of layer(s) are you wearing underneath it?
What size/color do you have? I might be interested in buying it from you!

Running Mommy--LOL! :D :D
Indysteel, it's an XL in the yellow color. I believe it's the Passion jacket.

Oh yes. I just never thought of that as a bad thing... :p I wear my Phantom jacket with only a sports bra underneath in the low 40s, with a shortsleeved base layer underneath down to about 28 and a longsleeved base layer underneath below that.
Since I like wearing a thin longsleeved layer more than a thick shortsleeved layer I very very rarely end up taking the sleeves off, so I guess that is a bit of a waste. Unzipping helps for ventilation though.

Bummer; that's not my size. I want one in yellow though!
I have one, the Passion I think, the jacket/vest convertible model. I actually quite like it and don't get excessively hot, but I'm one who usually is cold.
The only problem with it? It stinks. As soon as I've had a good sweat it in, it needs to be washed or anyone drafting behind me will be in danger of fainting.

Grog, lol. :) I would rather wear my 100 year old (well, ok, maybe not that old) Pearl Izumi whisper jacket than the Gore one. It's like having a solo Hotter N Hell ride. :p

I have the Gore Passion Windstopper jacket. I really like it on cold, windy or rainy days, but I have the same problem, I sweat and so I end up getting wet from the inside out. I don't think vents would help much. When I ride, I sweat no matter what the weather outside. So, I think it is great for stopping cold and light rain, but not so much for breathability. It doesn't usually bother me though as long as I don't make long stops and get the chills from being damp under my jacket.

Me, too.. or three... or something! I am frankly unhappy with Al Gore as it seems he has gained a TREMENDOUS amount of weight. (NO politics, just an observation.)

Well, maybe if he wore a Gore jacket he would sweat it off. ;) :D

I know, he's aging like poor Alec Baldwin.

so this means I don't have to feel badly about being unable to justify spending the $$$ on the pretty white Xenon jacket?
