If you're starting the program this week, please post your day 3 totals here! Spreadsheet (http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p1DExFpUd0kqAbjt81avdLA) is live.

Thanks,

You're in. Group 2, right? Hope this week goes better for you.

And a note to everyone: I wasn't thinking ahead when I signed on to do this - my computer access is going to be sporadic over the weekend. I will TRY to have the spreadsheet updated Sunday night, but it might not be until the early part of next week. Sorry :o

Ok...lol...I am completely clueless about the whole spreadsheet thing...

I started week one, day one today, did my initial test Friday -"ranked" at "3" on my initial test...so does that mean I am group 3?? sorry, like I said clueless...first time doing this sort of thing..

did 10-10-8-6-20 = 54 for today : )

thanks for any and all help in advance...:)

Yes, if you completed more than 10 pups in your initial test, you're in group 3 for the first two weeks.

Read through the 100 pups website and get an idea of the program. I've added some tips, mostly in the 9/1/08 Week 1 thread. The spreadsheets are just for fun, so we can track all the hundreds of pups we powerful women are doing! :)

If you want to be included in the spreadsheet, post your day 3 total (sum of all 5 sets) in this thread at the end of each week. Lots of us are posting what we've done each day, not just at the end of the week. Have fun!

LOL...probably because of all my time in the USMC (out now..)... muscle memory maybe??.. been quite awhile since I've done "pups"...

we used to do anywhere from 40-100 in just a pt session - usually as a warm-up

Read through the Week 1 thread for the group starting last week. After your initial test, let me know which column of the plan ("group") you'll be following, and post your totals in this thread at the end of each week.

Hope I'm doing this right. Just finished the initial test and my rank is 2. It's all I could do to finish the test, so I'll need to start my first-day workout tomorrow. I hope that's okay.

I am wondering what the five numbers stand for in some reported results. Would someone explain, please? I suppose I'll discover the answer, but thought I'd ask anyway.

Thanks!

I got all 3 days in last week:
1) 10/10/8/6/10
2) 12/12/10/10/12
3) 15/13/10/10/15 My arms were shaking after these!
I'll hopefully find the time this week to do all 3 again!

Hope I'm doing this right. Just finished the initial test and my rank is 2.

I don't know why he put those stupid rankings in that table for the first test  - it seems to be confusing a lot of people. If you did 6-10 pushups in your initial test, you're in COLUMN (group) 2. If you did 11 or more (which could still put you in "rank 2" on the initial test), you're in group 3.

I got all 3 days in last week:
1) 10/10/8/6/10
2) 12/12/10/10/12
3) 15/13/10/10/15 My arms were shaking after these!
I'll hopefully find the time this week to do all 3 again!
Jes

TOTAL: 163

Your third day total would be 63, then. Good job! We're only summing the third day. And since you're in the 9/1 start group, if you want to be on that spreadsheet, post that total in the 9/1 thread so SK can add you in.

Hey Life...if I can post my pathetic amount of pushups, you can to. I struggled to do 11 day one. I'm worried if I can even do them tomorrow. I have no upper body strength. I'm probably the weakest on this thread. Oh well at least I'm giving it my best shot.

GLC1968

OK, I did my self test last night. I was too afraid my group would be too hard, so I stopped after 11. I'm over 40 but under 55, so that puts me in group 2. Two more and I would have been in group 3, and I don't need that kind of pressure! :p

I will do my first workout tonight. I plan on following a Tues/Thurs/Sat schedule (I can't do Wednesdays). Hope that doesn't disqualify me from this group?!

Edited to add: DUH. I just reread the site, I get it now. I'm in Group 2 to start...but I'm working from column 3 for the challenge. That's confusing, isn't it?

it says to not pay attention to rank... or age for that matter.

regardless of how old you are (or rank) ... on your initial test, if you did:

up to 5 pushups - you follow the first column... group 1
6-10 pushups... you follow the second column... group 2
more than 10 pushups - you follow the 3rd column... group 3

I think:eek::p

I am on the M-W-F schedule and usually in the PM.
I usually log on at work (oh no!)--so I may not post til monday. I'll try and log on this weekend.
FYI...since I can do 10+ I started in Column 3 on Monday...But I BARELY made it. I have been sooooooo sore!!!! It hurts to run (pec's are attached to something else that moves during running!)
So last night (weds) I admitted defeat and moved to the more reasonable column 2. I didnt' think I could even do one! My first couple were very "shallow" if you know what I mean! But I warmed up and completed.
So I am in column 2 (I want to stay there!). And we are only reporting/posting day 3, correct?
Oak...thanks for taking on the spreadsheet. And we all will be patient.
I DO LOVE this challenge. I just hope I can get my sports bar no and after tomorrow's set!:o

I'm kind of in katluvr's boat. I did day 1 well enough, but I'm really, really sore. I tried to do day 2 today, but I could barely squeeze out 6 and I gave up. I'm still too sore. I'm going to give myself one more rest day. I'll do day 2 tomorrow and if I still can't do it, I'll move to column 2.

oakleaf and chicago: I'm doing knee pushups, so that's no doubt why the pushups are easy for me. I shall try the normal way and probably won't be able to do as many. I think we can do knee pushups, right? If not, I'll certainly switch.

Yes, you can definitely do knee pups! Just make sure you're maintaining good form - sometimes people have a harder time not bending at the hips when they're doing knee pups. And have a good padded surface for your knees so they can rock comfortably.

What some people in the other group are doing as a transition from knee pups to full-length ones is step-down sets. Start with full-length pups for the first two or three sets, and then do the rest on your knees.

Great job, everyone!

Hey Oakleaf - I'm going to have to drop out.

Sorry all! I just can't seem to commit to this. It ends up being last on my list of things to do and it keeps getting neglected. I still haven't done even workout #2 yet!

I'll keep my eye on you all though. Maybe once things settle down a bit (winter) - I'll start this up again. Or maybe I'll just take REALLY long to get through it all! :p
