Andrea,
I have a pair of low-end Shimano road shoes (my first pair) that I would part with for shipping costs (say $8?). Size 39.

I'm not sure what model they are, but they were at or near the bottom of the line for "real" road shoes (i.e., not spinning shoes or hybrid spd/walk around town shoes) when I bought them. I think I paid around $100 for them, maybe a little more.

They were used for a season. They do not look new, but they don't look awful either (I could take pictures if you'd like). The mesh uppers are in excellent shape. There's some dirt on the leather trim that would probably come off with some TLC. The biggest boo-boo is that the left toe area is severely worn down where the upper meets the sole, from balancing on my left toe at lights. You (or someone looking at your feet!) wouldn't SEE this when you are actually wearing the shoe because it's really on the bottom of the shoe, you only see it when you are turning the shoe around in your hand. It doesn't affect the integrity of the shoe at all -- it's a pretty small area. But it's the most serious wear on the shoe, so you should know about it.

Not bling, but free (+shipping). :D.

They have SPD-SL cleats mounted on them which still have a little life in them, or you could ditch them depending on what pedals you get.

They have three velcro straps. They are pretty comfortable -- although they are a bit looser and less glove-like than my Sidis, they are not sloppy (on my feet at least).

Let me know if you are interested. I won't be offended if you're looking for something a little nicer though :).

Edit: oops, I just noticed that you are looking for MTB shoes. Sorry.

Hi Andrea -

I have a pair of Specialized MTB shoes. They are the Women's BG sport model. This is the current version and mine are similiar (but 4 years old). I believe that mine are navy with black stitching...

They are a 38, but I wear a 7 in US sizes...so they will likely fit you. They have not been worn for MTBing since I'm primarily a road rider. I bought these for road riding and have since switched to road shoes. They are not new...but they are in good condition.

If you want them, they're yours. Just pay the shipping and I'll send them off. I will take a picture of the actual shoes tonight after work and post it, if you'd like. I don't have spare cleats or pedals...but perhaps you can find those from someone else?

Wow GLC1968, thank you!! Perfect :) My road shoes are Specialized too and I'm very happy with them. I raced my 3rd mountain bike race last Sunday and I was 4 seconds back from the 1st place lady. I had come off of my platforms several times, and crashed in the sand pretty hard. I'd like to think that clipless might have bought me that 4 seconds over the 10 miles. So, I'm going to try again on the 28th. Do you have a PayPal address? Please PM me as to how to pay you. I think I'm set on some Crankbrothers Candy pedals, too.

Are you still looking for pedals? I think I have some Shimano M505's laying around (gotta go home and check). You can have them for the shipping cost.

I really appreciate the offer, but I picked up some Crankbrothers Candy C's. Thank you! Hoping to try it all out on Sunday, when I take the kids out for their introduction to singletrack .
