Ohio just started a program (http://www.bmv.ohio.gov/) to attach next of kin contact information to your driver's license. It's a secure site and supposedly the information won't be accessed unless state law enforcement responds to an accident where you become incapacitated. It doesn't have to be legal next of kin, just whoever you want notified in an emergency, and there's space for two contacts. It won't be physically printed on your license, just accessible via LEADS as part of your driving record.
I'm posting this here because (1) the service may be available in other states as well (Ohio says it's "one of the first") and (2) whether or not us Ahahns belong in the "North Central" section, we really don't have any presence there.
