Okay - I had my first flat a few weeks ago and I think it took three hours to change it! But this time, it was much faster!!! Like 15 minutes - if that! EXCEPT - after I aired up the tire the valve stem looks stumpy. There's a little bit and then the cap. (I have a Giant FCR) So, I have the car kind of stem...is that schreader? Oi.
My question is - do I need to re-do it? And how do I keep it from getting sucked in?!
Thanks!

Try releasing some of the air in the tube. Next push the valve stem up into the tire and pull it back down. Re-inflate the tube and hopefully it will be seated properly.

Did you change your tire or your tube? Do Schrader tube come in different valve lengths like Presta tubes?

Schader tubes are all the same as far as I know. Deep V rims are all drilled Presta. Sometimes the rim strip hole is so snug around the valve that it doesn't pull all the way to the rim easily. If a rubber rimstrip, you can pull the rimstrip away from the rim, push it all the way over the valve, and then insert the valve with rimstrip into the rim hole.
