So far I've been training in a pair of workout pants I bought at Lucy a million years ago. I want to get some capris, I can't decided on which ones. Has anyone tried any of these:

I have hinky knees, so the CW-X are really tempting.

Do you need chamois or non-chamois?

I love my CW-X tights. I don't have the capri version but I can really tell the difference when I use the tights. I have the vented version for summer (they have a mesh fabric in some of the panels) and the regular or thermal ones for colder weather.

It's an expensive vice but well worth it :D

For non-chamois capris, I have and really like these:

the screaming yellow calf panels keep me seen in traffic, so if you are jogging on the side of a road with traffic it can make you feel safer. :)

I second the CW-X capris. I have a pair that I wear when it's kind of cold. I LOVE the support. They are not cheap, but they are nice. I have 2 pairs.

I don't know anything about the other two. If you have, uh, shall we say, shapely calves like I do, then the "gripper" around the calf will matter to you. That's my one complaint about the CW-X...a little too tight (but not unbearable). I have some Adidas running capris that I also love. They have a little slit at the bottom so I don't get any calf constriction. They are made for those of us with bigger legs.

CW-X seems to run small-ish. The Adidas ones are true to size.

partial hijack, on the CW-X fit. The guy at the LRS said they're supposed to fit "snug." I'm usually between a small and a medium in athletic wear - normally closer to a medium in the bottom . I tried on both sizes of the CW-X long tights. I didn't really feel much difference in the girth, only in the rise, and considering how "snug" they were, I bought the medium pair. Then I got home and looked at the sizing chart on the tag, and supposedly I should be on the *small* side of small. I haven't taken the tags off - was going to exchange them next time I'm in town.

Am I wrong? Do you think they run small as compared to their own height/weight chart?

I usually wear smalls in bike shorts/tri clothes, but I wear a medium in the cw-x tights.

I like them, but only wore out my first pair because my ginormous thighs rub the seams. Now I wear a pair of short compression shorts over the top of them.

I have a 3/4 pair for fall/spring and an insulator pair for snowboarding and winter running. My muscles feel more "springy" when I wear them.

I've tried CW-X in the store and they were very tight (although they were my size) and I just looked HUGE in them so yeah...I don't like to look like an elephant when running.

Lululemon makes flattering and comfortable capris, and some of the Nike ones are nice as well.

So which ones did you get, snapola?

I ended up with some made by Under Armour -- comfy with no grippers on the legs.

Well, shoot. I was hoping you'd have a review of the Descente.

I have the Descentes (with a chamois).
I'd rate them "fair."
They have the same issue for me that my Evil Empire (aka Performance) capris have: they feel like they are chronically scootching down my butt, exposing more than I care to the world :rolleyes:.
I don't feel like I can ever get them pulled up over my hips comfortably enough.
Other than that...I like the chamois....:p

Dang, I have some Aero-X shorts (and the bibs) from a few years back that fit very well. Not terribly fond of the chamois, but the fit is great so I was hoping the non-chamois Bliss capri or tight might might fit well also. I have a Bliss top that fits well and I normally can't find tops like that to fit my curves.
