I am about halfway on my bike bathroom remodel. Have the fabric for the curtain, just waiting on my mom's help and sewing machine. Got the Park Tool TP holder up and painted it a bright yellow called Hint of Honey. Tonight is the chain towel holder project.

So here is the question, I wanted some sort of photos. I thought about ordering some Graham Watson posters but would it be weird to print photos of us riding? I have some of DH racing, me riding and even attempting to mountain bike. A couple of ones of our moutain bikes in New Mexico. But would you think pictures of the home owner in a bathroom is weird? I am on the fence, sometimes I say yes and then no, then yes, then no. :p

I may still go with the Watson posters.

It's your bathroom, decorate it however you like! :)

I don't think it's weird at all. I have bike themed stuff in a lot of places in my house.
However, if you ever put your house up for sale, you might get advised to tone it down.

Maybe photos of you guys from afar or behind, but just not staring into the camera. Could be a little disconcerting for guests ;)

Oh yeah it would be ones of riding from the side or afar. I would be creeped out in my own bathroom if my husband was smiling down on me. Somethings are still private ya know?

Right now I am in a no to the pcitures thing, problem is the Watson posters I would really want don't come in mini size and this is a small bathroom.

Can you find some nice cycling pics and print them out yourself in an 8x10 format?

I wouldn't get too spendy as they are apt to be exposed to mositure.

How about finding an old bicycle, with the baskets, put in front of some sunflowers or a flower bed and take some pics. I did that this summer with my old bike and they turned out really nice. I plan on enlarging them and hanging them in a hallway. You've got scenery and a bike with no persons in them. Just a suggestion.

I think pics of you and your hubby would be fine. Like others have said, if the photos are taken from afar, no one will feel like you are watching them while they "do their business." :D And since they'd be distance shots, there would probably be plenty of that beautiful Texas hill country in the photos, as well -- who doesn't want to look at that?! :)

And pictures of nice scenery, like a breathtaking view from a ride, with one of you in the foreground on bike admiring it, i.e. photo taken from behind, could be really nice.

I have a wall like this in my house, all my photos taken while climbing or of good views at different climbing areas, so i don't think it'll be too weird. It's a good conversation piece, if nothing else! My friend has a funny picture of himself climbing in red rocks, hanging in his bathroom. The good kind of people will just find that stuff amusing or quirky!

You're asking us if it would be weird? ;):p

I don't think it would be, either.

Yeah, what was I thinking? My dad, mom and brother looked at the toilet paper holder and all said "I don't get it, what the heck is it?"

I am thinking it could be quite nice if careful selection is made. But I will have to see if I have a couple that will work.

Dad also cautioned me that I will have to redo the entire bathroom to sell the house and also paint "the ugly maroon study". He is a longhorn fan so the maroon is hideous. Oh and just in case you are wondering it is only the area under the chair rail (33") that is maroon, not the whole room. :)

I am thinking this photo would be the first one for the bathroom, right over the toilet but I fear it is a little too close up.

Yes the story behind it is hysterical and many of my friends/family know it. ;) I think my mother's computer has a decent resolution copy of it without the caption.

But the caption MAKES the picture. :D:D

I think guests would love it. I mean that.

Oh good grief, that's exactly what I did with my phone just this June.

I came out of the portajohn and said to my husband, "Call Verizon and find out where their nearest store is."

Luckily I was already due for new-every-2, so I had to sign up for a new contract, but I didn't have to pay for the phone

It took a couple of days before it was funny. :p Now I'm just REALLY REALLY CAREFUL whenever I have anything clipped to my hip or belt!

I am thinking this photo, one of DH racing (side shot) and a really cool "Share the Road" sign shot from New Mexico with mountains in the background are going up, if DH doesn't object. He kind of liked the idea once he had time to soak it in.

Yup OakLeaf, that is sorta what happened. This photo was taken April '06 after we finished the MS150. My mom stopped us to take a picture, right when she was about to snap it someone walking by asked "You sure you want that back ground?" and that is why we are looking back but DH looks kind of pissed.

That February we were at a ride and I used the portapotty prior to the ride. I had my phone in the pocket on my hoodie I was wearing and plunk, it went in the portapotty. The thing that makes the story though is I came out mad as can be and DH said "you didn't try to grab it?" His reasoning was to remove the numbers for my new phone, not to use it again but I rode 76 miles mad about having no phone, thinking I was married to the grossest man alive. :p

HAHAHAHA men are so funny! In my case it wasn't my husband but a friend of ours who was also at the event. He said the exact same thing to me! I just said, "Uh, NO."
