Ohhh, I seem to have managed to get my back out of whack when moving a piece of furniture that was simply too heavy for me. Stubborn me! The last time this happened three years ago I couldn't sit down. This time it's the other side. What have I done?

It's the extreme lower left-back upper-butt. Argghh. I stretched carefully and got into the jacuzzi, which helped. I'm in a new city, and my wonderful former chiropractor is three hours away...I'll rest and hope for the best and not be so darn independent next time!

Just had to vent.

Try lying on your tummy propped up on your elbows. (like a kid watching television on their stomach) Lying that way for a few minutes might be helpful. If it helps, do it several times a day. (sometimes it will push the disc or whatever you wolloped out of place moving furniture back into place, then you just keep doing it until it heals back into place after a couple weeks or so)

If your back doesn't behave, head on out to the doc and get it taken care of.

Thanks for the advice and the support. Knot, I did what you suggested and it did feel a bit better. I'll do it again, and do the stretches a that my old chiropractor taught me. I got a heat wrap and heating pad, and I called a couple of acquaintances for recommendations on reputable chiropractors.

In the meantime, I'm taking it very easy. No more moving stuff by myself!
