I have my phone call with Seven coming up soon. I've never bought a custom bike before, and I'm horribly afraid I'm going to forget something crucial but unlikely (the way you forget your underwear when you're commuting, or sun block on a really long, hot ride), so I need all you custom-bike-buyers' expertise:
What should I ask the bike builders about, talk to them about, or think about?
Help me with all the things I'd never think of!

Does Seven have a HUGE list of questions? They used to have a form on their site. That should help.
Editing: The custom kit form will help you generate your list -- http://www.sevencycles.com/order.php
Think about the little things like number and location of bottle cages, pump pegs, rack and fender mounts, etc. All those little things that make the bike work best for the type of riding you plan to use it for. The thing that usually takes the longest to decide is the paint/color scheme.

That's fairly easy, since it's titanium -- no paint at all! :D

My ti Spectrum is partially painted. And, you'll still need to pick out decals.

My call with Seven was weird....it was like I was interviewing for a job!
I, too, was totally stressed out about it. But ultimately, I just talked to the guy. I told him what kind of riding I liked to do...what my goals were on a bike...where my body had aches and pains (when riding, how often, how bad, etc.). I don't think I'm super articulate about stiffness and compliance needs or wants, but I told them what I was hoping for. And they delivered.
Hopefully, you'll get a good person who will have done bunches of these calls before and can kind of lead you along when you feel you're at a loss.
Relax, have fun, and let us know how it goes!
Oh...and I'd vote for the standard (http://www.sevencycles.com/paint.php)lettering - not the panels.

My interview was similar to 7riders. I had been jotting down notes about what was good and bad about my current ride - what hurt, how I liked to ride, what felt good, etc., so I don't think I forgot anything important. I told them about my goals, how much I ride, what types of rides I go on also.
Mine is nude Ti. I went with the panel decals - white on slate blue - because it matches my tires. And my Crank Bros. pedals. :) I think you can customize the top tube decal also, to say whatever you want?
