View Full Version : I need a bell

I want a cool bell but I can't find one. I saw a hamburger bell once at a bike shop but when I went back they don't have them anymore because no one wanted them!!! I don't want the plain jellibell or incredibell, I want a bell that is...well...funny.

I did some searches on the internet but didn't really find much. Frustrating because you get those weird pages that pop up and don't sell bells at all.

Any ideas??

I think these are cute, though maybe not as funny as a hamburger: http://www.wishingfish.com/bbelllady.html

from ebay:

Just do a search for bicycle bell and then wade through all the Bell products to find the real bells. A lot of these were 'buy it now' options too...so no bidding necessary.

I have one from these guys:

it's like this:
http://www.dringdring.ca/dringdring-en/bicycle%20bells_files/chat.jpg
and I love it. (It's on my pink bike unfortunately which I don't use much anymore.)

They have that classic "dring dring" sound - hence the name (you can listen to them on the home page).

I kinda like this:

This is really cute:

I imagine this one on LPH's bike for some reason:

An endless world of possibilities!

I love this one:

Kind of a reminder to me why I need to keep pedaling? :p

I love that sound!

I may have to get one of those. Mine produces a lame 'ting'.

TahoeDirtGirl,

I saw some in SportsBasement last night -- the hamburger bell and a giraffe bell. Unfortunately, they don't seem to sell them online.

I'm going to SportsBasement tonight to pick up my Waves to Wine packet. Do you want me to pick you up one of the bells (hamburger & giraffe) and ship it to you?

- Melissa

I had one of those way cute ones on the tandem, but it wasn't very loud...or else all the sound was just soaked up by the captain's backside.

I switched it out for a louder one, so at least I could alert the trolls when we go under bridges.

Did someone post this one already?

Maybe you can email them, they could do one in miles for you!

I would also have to email them for US shipping. Does $30 for a bell seem expensive?

I don't think there is much stopping me from buying a bike bell and painting it myself. I could tap into my artistic side. I might have to tap deep.

You're so funny.
You can't use house paint, you know.

I just paid $162 for a saddle bag....

But I like the idea of painting it yourself!

I have an espresso cup bike bell. The built-in clamp doesn't fit my handle bars.:( Time to take out the tools. Ah-oh!:p

If you coat it afterwards.
I guess.

It figures I couldn't get back online yesterday! Sorry Melissa, I guess I was late on getting back to you! I lasted this long without a bell...

OMG tho, I checked ebay before and they hardly had any! I like the skeleton bell and the one that looked like a sundae. The funny thing about the hamburger bell is I hardly eat meat. I have no idea what the fascination was with the hamburger bell.

So many bells so little time.

I saw this guy on the trails a few years ago and he had this little skeleton head on a spring that was around a bell, and as he rode it tinkled. We called him tinkerbell because he was a bit arrogant. I on the other hand, wanted to push him off the bike and steal his bell :) Not sure if you would call it a bell. But it was cool because it let people know you were coming.

I want a cool looking bell but still feel dorky having one. I'm getting a bit tired of relying on my voice when I go round blind corners.

I don't want to attach the bell to my bike though. I'd rather have it on my helmet or wrist or something. A helmet bell, that sounds cool!

Sundial, where did you get yours?

TahoeDirtGirl

sundial, that's a very cool bell. I have to pace myself with the bell hunt. I could wind up with one for every day of the week for both my bikes!

The coffee cup bell is so fun! I didn't see the hamburger bell when I opened the second link, though. Can I see? Please, oh please??

Oh man those are some cool bells!

Please let us know what you decided to get and where!

I don't have a bell but I had this "squeekie" cow on my old GT Outpost.....and we really don't have to talk about my cow fetish now do we, sigh.

TahoeDirtGirl

check the link out now....ohhhh I can't wait! and that cow...I should keep my eyes open for a horn. Buy the horn and the bike will appear??! Haha! So much for keeping the weight down on the commuter!

I love both of them! Nice choices (are you getting both?)

I love the bell on your bike, sundial. Very subtle and sophisticated.

yes I bought both. I am still without a Road ID. Do you see where my priorities are??? That and no waterproof jacket. I will never grow up!

No idea if i'll hear from them??? I guess if they have an issue with my billing address & postal address being in different countries, they'll contact me..
