I need some mtb shoes for cross season. I'm taking back my Pearl Izumi Quests as they tore my feet up something serious after a few minutes. Ick!

I tried the Shimano WM60s and they seemed comfy. Anyone have any personal favorites that are not Sidis? (don't want to spend that much $). I have Gaerne road shoes and like them. Anyone ride Garene mtb shoes? Carnacs? I'm looking on ebay again..

How about cheap Sidis?

I have the Women's Blaze (bottom of the line mountain shoe, I think it's the same last as the Raiden road shoe). Just two velcro straps, no fancy closure system. But great fit, very comfortable, fairly stiff, serious tread (I think it might accept toe spikes?), and retail is around $150, but you can often find them for closer to $100 online.
