Thankyou to everyone for the advice I asked for on behalf of my daughter and her long walk/ride to classes while carrying large musical instruments! I have survived the first week of her being gone, and she has also survived. We've sort of come to the understanding that she will probably walk with the large instruments and use the hand cart I gave her. She's not into bikes like I am and I guess she will be avoiding the freshman 15 at any rate! Although those cargo carrying bikes are pretty cool!
I did get word from the campus security department that they have received 24 new bike racks and are deciding where to install them. They should have that completed in about 2 weeks.
