I have a terrible case of acne on my forehead that just won't go away. My boyfriend said it could possible be an overage of testosterone from all the bike training/excercise I've been doing. He said it would go away once my body adjusts.

I hope so!! LOL

Is this true that it happens? I can't think of any other reason why. I'm 36 and should be over this by now. Maybe my body is in a "premenopause" state>..LOL

pro active, that stuff you see on the infomercials, is excellent stuff.

Could be along the line where your helmet sits. Oil, sweat, etc... Can you wear one of those sweatband thingies under your helmet?

I have used ProActiv before and it does clear up the acne. As soon as you go off, it comes back with a vengance! Also, don't even think about going out in the sun, even with sunscreen.....you will be so sensitive to the sun! I put my daughter on it. She also has "exercise induced" acne on her shoulders and forehead and neck. I found a better product that doesn't have the same side affects as ProActiv. Kara Vita is better! Just my opinnion!

Tell him... he's nuts. No offense... but that is probably NOT the reason for the acne.

Spazzdog is right on the money... your head is not use to something being on it and sweating just sitting on it... for long amounts of time. Pores clogged with dirt and sweat = acne.

Personally... my body is HORRIBLE about it... I am 32... and I have to use medicine on my face (from the DR.) every night, or I get these really bad zits that won't even come to the surface.

And, with all the sweating I do during riding... and not being able to shower until the ride is over and I am home... I get acne on my chest and arms. YUCK! Not much I can do though, my skin is "sensitive" and reacts badly to having sweat on it.

Anyhoo... you might think about carrying a small washcloth with you in your rides... try cleaning your forehead with it when you stop for a break. Also wash your face every night and morning (I found that Aveeno, Foaming Face Cleanser is nice and moderatly priced, can get it in WalMart/Target/etc.).

If all else fails... get to a dermatologist and ask how to proceed. He/she can get you a topical gel to fix the issue.
