My first long ride with my new saddle was a bummer cuase my back hurt like crazy... I though it was b/c I was dancing in the kitchen :o and moved things that haven't been moved in a few years...

But, today my back was not an issue all day, I get on my bike this evening and about half way through my ride my bike started up ..

Is it possible that it's the new saddle or the new saddle isn't the right hieght?

Thanks so much for yor info and opionions!

yes.

If the saddle makes you do shennanigans with your pelvis to get comfy, your back will pay the price. If the saddle is too high/low or too fore/aft, it'll bug your back as you compensate for the positioning.

Great book to locate (if you don't have it already): Andy Pruitt's Complete Medical Guide for Cyclists. Also, check Sheldon for saddle info. www.sheldonbrown.com

I had bad lower back pain when I tried a much cushier saddle. Went back to the hard saddle (Jett) & the back pain went away.

Yup... sure can

Knot has given you great advice.

It can be seat/bar angle
Seat/back angle

all sorts...

Hope you get it sorted.
