View Full Version : Tech Tips Forum Posting

I have a couple pc tech questions about posting on here that I've never asked...

Pic size...
I use photobucket mainly to get my pics on here. In their web site options, 640 x 480 states somewhere "forum size" (but still is a 'large' pic). I never think about re-sizing pics too much as I have a large screen monitor, and broadband. I like them big usually (guess I'm getting blinder in my old age:o). Do most of you think this size is ok?

Links...
Sometimes in a thread, a link will be posted, but without the entire web address showing. "Somehow" a word will be overlayed on the entire address. How do you do that:confused:?

Example: ... "To take a look at the pedals I own, click here"... The text in the word here is highlighted indicating that it's a link, but without all the long mumbo jumbo address. Normally, you click on the text, and it takes you straight to it (btw, my example here is just edited with font color etc., it looks pretty but linky no worky:o).

Thanks for any thoughts!

Miranda :)

TE forum will not accept a .jpg if it is larger than 600 pixels in any direction.
Also rejected are jpgs larger than about 190 kb. If your picture meets both requirements, then you are ok.

Picture size is only if you are loading them using the Manage Attachments button. If you link from another site, you don't have to worry about the size constraints.

I prefer the 640 x 480 size, bigger pix cause the entire thread to "grow", so if you don't have a wide screen it gets pretty ugly.

Inserting a link is simple.

1. Go to url you want, select the url and copy it.

2. In the TE reply to thread screen, click on the Insert Link picture (little world with a paperclip) Another small window will open, paste the url you copied in this window. You might have to delete the http:// from the beginning of your link, you only want one. (ie: http://forms.teamestrogen.com not http://http://forms.teamestrogen.com )
