Hi!
My name is Beth and I live in Minneapolis, MN. I've been snooping on this forum for a few months and thought I'd give registering a try. :D
This summer I've discovered how much fun cycling is and am hooked. I purchased my new bike about one month ago and it's made a huge difference in my enjoyment and speed :D I look forward to riding it every day that I can. So far, I've put 466 miles on the new bike. I rode it to the LBS today and had the 30 day adjustment done - and ended up buying more fun things for the bike as well, opps - ha ha ha!
I hope that next summer I'll find the time and have the strength to do a century. So far, my longest ride has been 60 miles - and I don't think I'll be doing that again for awhile
That's it for now,
Thanks!

Hello Beth, welcome to the board. Great mileage you've racked up with the new bike. You'll find lots of great people on this board, along with lots of information about biking and life. Enjoy.

I only joined when I found out about the forum in July. I met a long time member at a training I was at in Maryland and she got me hooked (Thanks IFJane;)). I've already put out a few questions and attempted to help answer others.
Welcome to the group!! Be careful though, it's addictive:D!!!!

Sure :D ...
I tried out about 6 or 7 bikes and just found this one to ride and fit the best...
It's a gaint TCR CW, road bike. Before this one I had been riding a steel bike , Nishiki (sp).

Once I got on my new bike, my speed went up a full mile per hour - which was great since my speed before was that of a small turtle, now it's a larger turtle all the way, HA HA HA!
I got new seat yesterday, another drink holder, a pump in case of a flat (How I hope that never happens), and a new under the seat storage thing-y - I'll have to take a new photo and post it later. It still needs a bell or something so I can take a break from yelling "on your left!" once in awhile.:D

Hey FishLady. So glad to have you around. It's such a gas here.
Nice photo of your bike. I hope you have a very portable camera because the photo-ops while biking are legion.
I have all sizes of Nikon cameras but the tiny little Nikon L5 fits in my pants pocket and takes great photos.

Hey Fish ... I'm a newbie as well. I just bought my first bike in May after joining Team in Training. I've been training all summer for my first Century which is Saturday - and I'm TERRIFIED! If you can do 60 you can do 100 - at least that's what I tell myself! I started in May and cried and walked my bike the entire 15 mile ride. My longest ride was 78 miles - and I'm hoping to be in good shape for Saturday!
Look into Team in Training its an incredible introduction to the sport, provides tons of motivation and guidance, and keeps you on the bike.
Welcome!!!
