Yep- George in a box! As in Hincapie!! :p
Yesterday my 2009 Giant Bicycles dealer progam materials came in. They were in a cute little box, and when I opened it George started talking to me!! :D
It was quite clever, and had us all laughing and playing with it over and over. Simple things you know...
Of course the guys in the shop were teasing me about what they were going to do to my "George in a box"....:rolleyes:
I did laugh at one suggestion tho. The recording starts off "this is George Hincapie...." So they wanted to hack into the computer in it and have it say 'this is George Hincapie, and your a jack ***" and send it to the guy at a competing bike shop who keeps bad mouthing us... Of course I would never!! I don't believe in that kind of bad karma, But I did have to chuckle at the the thought of him opening the box to that... (yes I have an evil side);)
Ahhh gorgeous George..... :)

I'll take a George in a box...;)
Sounds pretty neat! Of course, anything that has to do with George is golden in my book.
'this is George Hincapie, and your a jack ***"
Oh, that's funny:D

Yeah sad thing is... I really liked the guy. I used to go sit on the stool in his shop and chat. In fact I've made posts in the past about my fave lbs.
BUT he's a specialized dealer- and I don't drink their kool aid. So I was kind of left without any real options. That's why we opened really. He couldn't get the things we needed.- Chris King, Fox, specific tri bike bits etc..
???? whaddya gonna do??

RM - is there something between Specialized dealers and other bike shops, or just a couple of individual jerks over there in the desert and here in the murky swamps of the Big Easy? I got railed on by a LBS over a year ago about my Specialized that I bought from a flooded LBS post-Katrina - they were claiming I had an illegal bike, as "ALL" the bikes in the other shop flooded. The shop I bought it from had about a dozen in their attic that didn't flood, and they were selling those at terrific prices, for cold hard cash. I was able to register my bike with Specialized for the warranty, so figured it wasn't on the list of destroyed bike.
Anyway, I haven't been in the offensive shop since, and have spread my bad experience. The flooded shop has since rebuilt and reopened, but I haven't made it over there yet. I've taken my bike to a different shop (LBS #3, don't loose count!) for service ever since - where I've been a happy customer for years.

Beth, I'd say it's just an individual thing. Sounds like your guy just had a bad case of sour grapes or something...
As I've alluded to before, I'm not a specialized fan, but I don't bad mouth their bikes. They just aren't for ME. But this guy is a world class jerk. He was nice when I was spending money in his shop, but once I figured out he had no clue what he was doing things changed. He turned very arrogant, and I hear he bad mouths us all the time. But like I said, I'm a lover not a fighter, so I just smile and say "ahh whatever" and give the best customer service I can.
