As I saw the last glimmer of life fade from your beautiful eyes, you reminded me that even in death there is hope. You are now perfected, in a sanctuary that is timeless and not bound by the imperfections of this life. And until that very special day when we are reunited, you will remain steadfast, ever watchful for our return.

Jodi is not alone as she waits, surrounded as she is at the rainbow bridge by all the loving TE furbabies that were there before her. Yogi, Ted and the rest of my crew will show her around.
Beautiful tribute, beautiful baby.
Big hugs and comforting butterflies,

Oh no... This happens far too often around here. I really and truly feel for you, Sundial. Sounds like you and Jodi shared a lot of love with one another. That love never dies. Bless you for being a wonderful animal guardian. Hang in there, and know that many of us know what you are going through and feel your pain.
Oh Sundial, I'm so sorry.
Jodi was a great dog and had a good life with you, probably one of the best lives a dog could have.

I am so sorry for your loss. Take comfort in knowing how much you loved Jodi and the wonderful memories you have with her. She will be waiting for you over Rainbow Bridge. But for now she is not in pain and playing in the meadow filled with butterflies and other furry playmates. She will be your guardian angel forever.
She was a beautiful dog. I love her picture! She will always be close to your heart....never far away.
Many hugs to you,
Chris

I arose from my fitful sleep and gathered up the flashlight. I wanted, no needed, to be near Jodi's grave. As I stood there in the early morning hours, I scanned the skies looking for the brightest star. She is there, forever beautiful and mysterious. As shooting stars streaked across the sky, I felt the tear drops fall and for a brief moment, we were united. You are so near, yet so far. I love you, Jodi.
So sorry to hear you lost a good friend.

Thank you all for your words of encouragement. It has helped lessen the pain.
I looked out at her special place and a bird rests there.
It was this time yesterday that we were together, waiting.....
Somehow, I thought she would live forever.

I am so sorry for your loss:(. My beautiful yellow lab is on the other side of rainbow bridge with her too. She is not alone with all the other TE furbabies. She was a beautiful dog. I bet you two had some fun times playing in that doggie friendly fenced yard behind her in the pic. Huge (((hugs))) to comfort you.

Thank you everyone for your kind words of support and comfort. It has really touched me and sustained me in this difficult time. I feel privileged to be a part of this fellowship.
I am spending more time with Niki and Kali, enjoying and savoring the moments that they treasure so--long walks, an early morning sunrise, running through mud puddles, the sound of crickets at the close of another day. I go to where she lay and together we share our special moment together. A young mockingbird watches over her and it brings me comfort. I see the last of the blackberries of the season drop and a hummingbird moth flutters by, in search of the honeysuckle nectar. The summer comes to a close as a new chapter begins. I am content in spite of my loss.

Sundial -
I don't know you, being fairly new to this forum...but I know how you feel and I extend my sympathy to you. I lost my 16 yr. old Lab, Concho, two summers ago and my heart aches for the loss you are feeling. I wish I had some words of comfort for you, but I know (as well as many others on here) that nothing helps the pain...just know you are in my thoughts as you go through this difficult time.
