Tire size

I have 700 x 28 tires on my touring bike and they're ok...but I keep reading about tires that are more flat proof....and a little more versatile than my Zafiros.

so here i am reading about tire sizes..holy moly what a mess!!!!

I have this for wheels: Alex ACE19 eyeleted double-walled rims, 700c, 36H, with Shimano Tiagra hubs, 14g stainless steel spokes
So I figure I can get tires that are 622/19 ?

I've been looking at Schwalbe marathons, pacer pancela, vittoria radoneur.
Opinions and readons for them?
