I was going to ride my bike to my mammogram today, but found some thing wrong with it(the bike I was going to use). Turn is was the right thing to do as I forgot the Dr's order:o. so I zigged and went down to the airport(on my other bike):

Just did a "quick" around town 21 mile ride today. DH and I rode to the lbs, picked up some supplies for me (spare tube, etc) and then rode to have lunch at Panera, then home. An awesome way to spend a morning!

I got up really early today and did a 24 mile nice ride through the countryside.
Then I went home, showered, and rode back into town to meet up with fellow TE-er Crankin from Mass., her husband and two other biking friends. They rode from Great Barrington and back today (50 miles round trip) to come have lunch with me in our little town! :p
We 5 had a fun time for lunch. Pictures will be coordinated after this weekend. :)

Did the laid back club ride. 25 miles, 15.5 MPH. Awesome weather, too!

I took the afternoon off from work (everybody else in my group was off doing a golf scramble/beer fest kinda thing - not for me, so I took vacation time) to do a nice 33 miler on my new road bike. It was great! Glad I didn't cave to all the intense pressure to golf (which I would be horrid at - I can't play putt-putt without ending up feeling bad about myself -or volleyball, basketball, tennis, softball, ......).

The coolest part of my ride was a couple of miles from the end - a smallish bear loped across the highway about 100 feet ahead of me. Just as I'm checking for traffic, which was heavier than usual today, I see a cub come out of the bushes, about 4 feet behind her. I started braking, not wanting mom to get mad at me, but she never saw me - was just heading for the other side of the road. After the cub came out, another little guy appeared behind him. I was so afraid a car would hit them! But at that time there weren't any around (probably why mom picked that moment to scurry), and they all crossed safely. It was my best wildlife experience all year! Ever seen a black bear cub? What cuties!:D I haven't ever seen one that young up close (okay, I wasn't that close) - mostly half-grown ones. I'm so glad I took the afternoon off, and picked that route!

Twenty six miles on the canal towpath. This bend around the rock wall is one of my favorite places, it's a straight drop down to the river

Looks like you were in actual danger, though - it says so right on the sign. Looks like a great ride!

32 miles combined commute in the rain this morning and date this afternoon.
Met Raleighdon about 1/2 mile from my office. We rode to Alki point into a head wind and had a smoothy. then we rode back to beacon hill and ate Filipino food at a restaurant 5 miles from our house. on a full stomach, we rode the last 5 miles home.
BEAUTIFUL EASY ride.

I planned on doing a 20 miler, as I was finishing my ride, I met up with a male biker. Never met the man before, he actually slowed to make conversation. I ended up riding an extra 16 miles with him. ALL the time, thinking, they will find me dead along the road some wheres. He introduced himself right away and what he did for a living, and ok, that seemed trustworthy, he was a track coach and he rides with someone that I'm familiar with. Much more at ease. I warned him, I stink when it comes to hills so he waited for me. I took a chance and it was really something that I was thankful for that nothing bad happened. We had a nice ride, granted I didn't have enough drink with me for the extra miles so I was thirsty when I got back home. What beautiful pictures of places you ladies ride. My sister has got to help me so I can show you some of my places-i have no computer capabilities at all, let alone a lot of modern technology.

LOL! I would be thinking the same thing - but would ride with him and talk, too. Glad you are still alive!

17 miles at Middle Run with DH and our friend Bill. Probably the only two boys that I will ride with, as they don't drop me and leave me all alone in the woods, but they do challenge me. It was a great ride- no one else there, good company, rode some obstacles that I would have walked last year and I only fell once near the end.

Now today's ride (8/3) is a whole 'nother story...
