Hi from down under...

As a newbie to this forum, I am trying to find my way around everything and there are so many posts...

I was wondering if it would be possible to make a new forum and shift all the nutrition and recipes there. I know there is a place in "tips and tricks" but there are threads I know I will want to come back to and will have trouble finding bits... also there are quite a few threads in "open topic" relating to nutrition and spinning that could maybe be shifted too
And lots of threads about body aches - in several forums - can they all be popped together?

Don't wanna be telling you your job, just trying to make things easier for me to find my way... hope I don't offend...

(LOL, its all about me! Me Me Me!)

If there are easy ways to find stuff, let me know, but I can't seacrh by name yet, cause I don't know you all well enough, and because I am reading so many posts, it'll be hard to search by a word because I am likely to think "oh, something about that somewhere"...
I just really like the board, and I know there are things I am reading that I am going to want to find again... Thanks for listening

best way to search for a topic is to use the search function and go by topic/keyword.

In theory (listen to me soundin' all edjamacated) it's a great idea.

However, we all know from experience that as folks come and go they all (this dog included) cruise for a while then kinda splat a question where ever they are.

And every one here is always courteous and helpful just 'cause that's how it is here.

I'm all for topic organization... I'm as anal as they come. But I've never seen it work in a forum environment. Tangent leads to tangent, giggle leads to giggle, we all swing back on topic and kinda wander in the general direction for a while.

my 3 cents

This is true, the Praise for Cycling Single thread is a good example. But having one place to look for "what do you eat", "what should I drink", "can I survive on 3 peanuts and a lettuce leaf everyday" questions might make it easier for new girls.

I'm an instant gratification kinda gal....

I like the idea! I was actually searching for something this weekend (i used the search, but really wanted to look at the various threads). I was looking for one of the nutrition books mentioned, found it.
Enjoy!

Hi again

I moderate another forum, and one of my jobs there is to move topics to the "right" place.

I know threads go "off-track" and as you get to know me you'll find I'm guilty as any for going off track... I have no problem with them going off track... :p it can be so much fun

But I really think that a food and nutrition forum, and maybe an injury forum would be useful... threads start with a specific purpose (like a great breakfast before a race... or a way to relieve sore knees or something) and those specifics could be all kept together...

It can work well, SpazzDog, promise

What do you say mods?
:)

WOW!!!

MAGIC!!!

While I am here a nutrition/recipes thread appears!

Brilliant!

Thankyou so much - "administrator" (I see you are here with me)

I, for one, really appreciate it!

Wasn't in disagreement at all Raven... no problem.

If it stays in the air I say fly it as long as possible :)

I've created a nutrition forum and moved all the nutrition / food / recipe related threads I found in a cursory set of searches into said forum.

If you find anything I missed (or future posts that are in the incorrect category), just send me a PM and I'll take care of it.

Thanks!

I don't know that I've seen enough injury posts to warrant a seperate forum for those. The trick is to not sub divide too much. :) Where do you moderate? I moderate over here: www.backpacking.net/bbs.html.. I'm the Diva of the gear making discussion but I do over see the whole board, with team of 4 others.
