Louisville is suppose to be a bike friendly town but this particular incident today certainly contradicts this positive label. I'm shocked by the news. I do hope the police find the two men involved today and press charges.

Scary... Around here recently there has been a group of teenagers who have taken to mugging cyclists.... they hang out at the end of a bike/ped tunnel that runs along along side I-90. They've managed to knock one guy off his bike and steal his back pack and another cyclist reported they tried it again on him yesterday. He was watching for it and leaned into the guy hard. He managed to not fall down himself and says he hopes the guys arm hurts as much as his shoulder does.
Something tells me there is more crime in this incident than this heinous assault.

The road rage around here is growing. A couple of weeks ago a motorcyclist and a woman driving an SUV had an exchange at a traffic light. The motorcyclist got off his bike and approached her car to talk to her about her driving. She pulled a gun and shot him in the chest. Her son then got out of the SUV and started kicking the man as he lay on the ground. The grand jury found grounds to take this one to court. Two felony charges have been filed against the woman.
Last week a motorist in a hurry was traveling in one lane and whipped around the truck he was following striking a man on his bicycle. The impact killed the cyclists. No charges were filled against the driver.
Back in the spring an other cyclist was struck and killed. And last summer a commuter crossing the 2nd street bridge was struck from behind and killed. The incident was labeled an accident and no charges were filed.
