I got home early today, didn't feel like riding my horse so I checked on her and headed home to have a nice evening in with my BF. I was greeted at the door with a why are you home and you are not allowed in the office, I'm working on the computer and you can't see it at the moment.
I head into the kitchen and piddle on my computer for a bit, next thing I know the kitchen door is closed. This is getting very strange.
After a good 10-15 min he comes and gets me, I have to close my eyes and he leads me down the hall of the apartment, when we get near the office door he starts to spin me so I have no idea where I am, I get led into a room and my hands touch bar tape. I open my eyes to see a beautiful road bike :) I started to cry. Really. We have been looking for a road bike for me for a while and he had bought it for me while I was away on holiday and had emailed me the pics but when I got back he told me we didn't get it.
SO I am now the proud owner of a beautiful hand made steel road bike with Campy parts. We even got the original bill of sale! It looks super expensive but then I realized it was lira :o
I'm working on getting pics on line and will post links as soon as possible. Bare in mind it was built in 1997.

What a beautiful bike - if she made you cry - you were meant for each other.
Congratulations!

It is a beautiful bike! What a super boyfriend! :)

Those Campagnolo components don't look 11 years old. Are they newer than the frame?

Gorgeous bike! I'm a bit partial as my Bike Friday is white with the same color blue handlebar tape as yours! :D

Enjoy your new, beautiful ride! What a wonderful boyfriend you have! :p

that is a super sweet bike!

how are the test rides going?

As the weather is not so great over here at the moment (not too warm and rain ) and we have a busy week I put her on the rolers last night in my work shirt and a pair of gym shorts that i pulled out quickly. I'll get a real ride on Sunday. I do think she will be getting a new saddle but we will see how sunday goes.

the fork, it's alu, but we also have to original as well.

BF does say that as it's a 9 speed the parts may be a bit newer than the frame but the parts will not die for ages as camp parts live for ever :) I just have to make sure not to crash her and she will last me a long time. The fork is not the original, it's alu, but we also have to original as well. I got three forks with it :) (got a longer alu as well)
