A week ago, Saturday 5th I finished my first ever 70.3 triathlon in Stavern. It went really well, I had control all through the race, and I even managed to finish within the time I had wanted: I hoped for less than 6h 30, and finished on 6h 23mins, still running happily.
The Monday after we set out on a 9h hike, and I've been instucting on a glacier course the rest of the week, hence the late report... I just wanted to share it with someone who knows what this means!
Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I´m thinking about one of these for next year. I don´t know that I will be in a fit state to climb any glaciers afterwards, you are clearly much tougher than me!

Go for it! And thanks, too!
It was such a major thing for me - I've had this particular triathlon in mind several years, last year I had to give up due to a knee injury, so it was such a relief and feeling of achievement when I realised it was going my way.
When it comes to the glaciering, I have to admit that my boyfriend helped carrying all the heavy gear for me, we had to cross a mountain to get to the location of the course, and I couldn't have dared to go there all by myself. But I did carry it all home after having had the best week ever - only a few drops of rain and fantastic sunshine two of the days.
ah - well done Trigress! Great job :)
Where was your glacier course? I've done a little guiding on Bøverbreen and over Smørstabbreen but no instruction proper.

It was a DNT course on Demmevasshytta, hence the long walk to get there... When we got around the glacier we were unable to cross the river between Ramnabergvatnet and Nutavatnet, and had to seek refuge at Rembesdalsseter for the night. The course participants thus had their first transport job when they had to pick up their third instructor on the tongue facing Rembesdalsvatnet...

Thanks again for your replies, I really appreciate the support!
I'm sorry for not having paid attention to the latest replies, but I've just come home from having climbed Mont Blanc (4808mas) in France! :D Very proud of that too, it certainly has been a very busy summer...
It's 24 centigrades here in Oslo now, we've had 28-30 centigrades the last few days. What an amazing thing to hear on the plane from Amsterdam to OSlo "the weather in Oslo is clear and sunny, and still a good 28 degrees at 9pm" when we came home on Thursday. Got to hit the road, methinks.
