Finally finished my new ride... a 2008 Kona Dr Dew with a few upgrades. I call her Artsy for short. She is my around town, go anywhere, commuter (well I only have a 2 mile commute), rolls smooth on our chipseal and forest service roads, and she's pretty. Love the disc brakes for steep downhills... and of course the wood fenders are just cool functional art.

What do you think?

what kind of bag is that? It is adorable? I wonder if I could find one in red plaid to match my school colors?

The color scheme reminds me a bit of another beauty- the SweetPea Farmer's Market bike:

water bottle is a Klean Kanteen 27oz stainless steel. The only place I've seen the colored ones are at REI website.

Oh thanks, I should have known! I have the plain brushed steel KK ones!

You've done a beautiful job coordinating the accessories on that baby.

WOW! I love the color scheme and those wood fenders are about the coolest thing I've ever seen. I love the green and tan colors together. In fact, I'm green with envy!

Thanks, the fenders are made by Woody's Fenders in Bend, OR. He has so may designs it's hard to decide, but the "Artsy Fartsy's" were love at first sight. They are surprisingly durable and strong, I'll let you know how they hold up, but so far 3 weeks and no scratches, dings or dents. They work and are beautiful... functional art.

What she said...

WOW!

Will you allow yourself to be seen riding with us that have non-coordinated bikes? My purple Breezer cruiser is going to be SOOO jealous. I subject it to day glow orange paniers.

That is one gorgeous bike. I'm very jealous, but you've given me something to aspire to once my bills are all paid off. Best of luck!

Ooooo... beautiful. It reminds me of Craftsman style. Rivendell seat, fenders, the handle bar grip. So stylish. It really is a shame you have to ride it :D :D

It's a beauty! Wow, how can anyone not ride a work of art like that. She deserves to feel the bite of the road and the wind between her spokes. Then a nice relaxing spa treatment afterwards.;):D

Harley... she is a beauty! Thought maybe you'd done your own pin-striping on the woodies, but I get it now. I'll be in the Methow later in the month -- I'll keep an eye out for that one! No other like her, I'm sure. GREAT JOB!

Sorry for not getting back to everyone sooner, busy day Friday.
Thanks again for all your comments, its fun that everyone likes what I put together.
Dr Artsy Fartsy is not really a Mountain Bike, but the flat bar makes her look like one, she has 700c wheels, more of a Hybrid. Rides like a road bike, is quick and pretty fast, but the larger tires 700x37 give a soft ride on all the chip-seal and rough roads in our area.

MadScott -I ride Artsy when I don't want to get all dressed up (shoes, shorts, jersey)and ride my Bianche C2C Via Nirone... which seems to be most days lately. Commute to work, errands, and ride the rough-paved forest service roads, which beat me up on the Bianche. It's just a fun bike to ride, I feel like a kid, and yes, she is a head turner:)

OMG:eek::eek::eek:
I got an email back from Kona! They love what I did to their Dr Dew - The reply email had a photo of a pink Kona with Woody's fenders, the guy really likes them.
Joe,my LBS owner said they forwarded the email and photos to him, and "just about everyone else in Kona world"!

Dr Artsy Fartsy is famous:p
