I have never owned a rack like this before, so I don't know if this is typical. Trying to decide if I should return the product or not (or what else to try)...

I bought this seat post rack in this link...

It is a Delta Post Haste rack that is standard mount (one pic of it shows quick release, mine has permanent hardware).

Actually I wanted the rack to be a quick release, but read in some rack reviews that the clamp rubbed a user's thighs while pedaling. I can see how the clamp sticking out could do that, so I went with hardware in hopes of not having that issue.

Once attached, and just a short test spin, my thigh hits the mounting. I can try to remount it if someone has any tips, but it needs to be a certain height to not hit the tire:confused:.

Btw, on comparable suggestions, if any, I somehow paid about $27 for the rack and bag combo on sale. I didn't really need the bag, but it was the same price at the time as the rack alone.

Thanks :) !

I've had seat post racks and find them very convenient. I looked at the photo and wonder if you can't slide the mounting bracket up higher on the seat post so you won't hit it with your thighs?

Lots of yucky things hit my thighs on the variety of bikes I've ridden lately. I don't think it's the bikes so much as my thighs!

But I'm down another pound and so maybe someday the thighs won't take a rubbing anymore!

Thx for the responses thus far. I might try to mount it again higher. The mounting is not really that large, so you would think it wouldn't matter:confused:. But, it does I guess. I'm not a commuter atm, or a cross country tourer either. Maybe some day:rolleyes:. I got the rack with the idea that I could use it carry a picnic while out with my kids on a trail for one. Then I thought about my road bike and that if I did want to join a friend who has a rack and tours with a change of clothes etc., I'd be all set up:cool:. It's a nice little rack otherwise. Dang it, just has to not rub...
