Greetings!

I thought I better introduce myself & my bike. My name is Magg (Maggi, Maggie, Maggster, you with the face; I'll answer to anything!) and I am a pudgy & out of shape gal who has a sweet little bike that longs to be ridden. I live in Colorado & am preparing to move further north in the state. I haven't posted before & since the "warning" came through my email I thought I better compose this & send it out before I get any more packing done today. :p

I haven't hopped on it this year at all because I wanted to get new tires & change a few things about my ride before hopping on again. Excuses? A bit. My husband was out of work for a few months & I couldn't find a short term job so anything I was going to spend on my bike kinda went out the window. Anyway, I have an '07 orange Townie 7D.

Here are some pics of her. This was the day I brought her home. It was getting ready to storm outside so the flash kinda caused the orange to brighten beyond what it normally looks:

Since these pics were taken I've installed a rear rack & attached a "huge" Wald wire basket. I'd take pictures of how I installed it but my camera is all but dead so that will have to wait. :(

I want to upgrade the guts later on but right now the main things I want to focus on is getting a proper fitting, which I will have done in the next 3 weeks, get a different type of tire. I want something with a bit more grip because the times I change surfaces the back end wants to slip out from under me. I don't like that at all. I also want to get different coloured grips because the white ones kinda suck; they get dirty & have a tacky feeling to them. The seat I also want to change but I've yet to come across one that will suit my special needs. I have a connective tissue disorder which causes me to have laxed ligaments so the pressure on my sit bones is more extreme than the average person. I'm hoping that once I have my annual tuneup & fitting that I can have a better feel for what type of seat I will need.

Lastly, I'd love to find some plus sized clothing that works well for me when cycling. If any of you have any good leads I'm all eyes!

I guess that's about it. Thanks for taking the time to read my introduction.

Nice bike! I test rode one yesterday just for the heck of it--it was so fun and comfy! If it had been orange, I may just have brought it home with me. As it is, my sister is thinking of getting one and she doesn't even know how to ride a bike. She wants to learn, but all of the bikes she has access to are too intimidating. I figure if she gets one and still doesn't learn to ride, I'd be happy to take it off her hands!

Welcome snowflake (love your name). Glad you decided to post and join us!
Your bike is really pretty!!!! I'll bet it looks even better with a rack on the back~ and I'm sure it's a ton of fun to ride!
We just got back from Colorado, and I want to move there (everytime we go, I say I want to move there- but alas we still live in OK :().

Enjoy riding your bike, and tell us how the fitting goes. Like shellyj said, there's lots of plus size stuff here on TE and Terry. Both make some really great clothes. Enjoy shopping! :)
