Well,
I made the right decision to bag out on my off road tri this w/e. I raced with my mt bike team instead and had a great race and more importantly a great time. The 300 mile trip each way to the tri was part of the reason I decided not to go.
I am really enjoying racing with the team, which is new for me. My DH raced as well as my sil. It was really hot and humid, but the course was great. Just hard enough to be challenging without being stupid.
I held 3rd all the way to the very end, until a mechanical issue prevented me from shifting. The last mile I got passed by one of the girls on my team and ended up 4th. But I am really happy with my race. Not bad for a middle aged mt biker!
The pics are of us lining up for the start. we do not have our team jerseys yet. The boys made a mistake with the order and got all men's jerseys. That is me in the orange top.
