(whanau is the Maori word for family in case any one was wondering :o )
I've been a avid reader and occasionally poster on this board for sometime...... it's the best talk board that i've come across, I've learnt so much from everyone, and have enjoyed the fact that for a board of mainly women, there is absolute minimal ***** slapping and generaly nastiness go on (you should read the NZ horse talk board, they can be horrible to each other and spoil what could be a great board) TE is great stuff
the other reason for this post is to thank Crazy Canuck........ this morning i managed a short ride along the coast on Auckland's first sunny, but cold winter morning a first for sometime................ when I got back I had to go for my last chemotherapy session, which quite frankly I really wasn't looking forward to :eek: when we were about to leave for the hosiptal a packaged arrived of two spinerval DVDs, a Breast cancer t-shirt, a cool bag with STAR on it (I dont recall ever being called a star !!!!!;) sent from CC .... How cool was that ! CC you're a awesome lady to have thought about it and send all the goodies over :) Thank you !
Now as I move on from chemo, I'm looking forward to start training for my first 160km ride at Lake Taupo in November, inspired by all you lovely ladies that post about your rides & events :D:D:D

(((MNZ))))
I hope your training for the round Taupo goes smoothly! We'd love to do it again but we'll be there at christmas to visit family and go MTN biking in Rotovegas  :D  :D (MNZ..we fly into dorkland)
I read about the cold front that's making it's way through NZ..I know it's cold as the Desert Road is closed
Take care
:)

(((MNZ))).
My heart goes out to you. It is wonderful that you are finished with the chemotherapy. You'll be feeling much better soon. Good luck with your training -- way to keep at it and try to keep your life "normal" despite all that is happening to you. You must be a very brave and determined person! Like a STAR!
You are in my thoughts and prayers. Enjoy your training!
Jes

So glad to hear you are finishing up your chemo and that you have plans to ride a big ride. :) Please keep us posted on your event and we'll continue to send you the good vibes. One thing about TE: people are courteous. It's so refreshing to find that here.

Go MillieNZ! Win! Hooray your last chemo session is over and I am glad you had a nice ride.
Winter? What's that? Oh yeah, that thing we had here in Utah a few weeks ago.
Supposed to get to 100 F today, but I see a thunderstorm coming.

Your post is inspiring, thank you for sharing. :) My husband is having cancer surgery (tonsils... weird) on Thursday, so positive stories are so encouraging. ( And surgery should be enough for him.)
And I also wanted to say that I really like this forum as well...I'm a newcomer, and I also enjoy the girl vibe here. Looking forward to reading and learning more and getting to know you guys.

What!?!?!?!
You are a SURVIVOR, lady! That is HUGE! And not just to you!
1 in 5 I believe is the last statistic for women that will get breast cancer in their lifetimes.... We are all affected by it.
Congratulations, again! You've DONE IT!

My thoughts exactly! And it's huge to this board when one of our own beats something as nasty as breast cancer.
And now that that's done (Woo-hoo--Brava!), please keep us posted on how you're riding!
