Ladies and gentleman, there is no such thing as a free lunch, and there certainly is no such thing as $100 bike. It's more like $350 dollar bike right now, but all in all still pretty decent compared to some of the things I've seen in shops. Oh, and the pride in bringing her back to life.

I apologize that I didn't get any pictures of her in pink and primer (she was so cute), but here are some of the paint pictures. She looks all black now, and a little rough because I taped off her pretty pink lugs with masking tape before hitting her with black. The fork color doesn't look nearly as vibrant in the pics. Anyway, tomorrow is clear coat day, hurray! Friday night I put her back together, Saturday I list her on Craigslist! Hee hee, juuuuust kidding!

She wears black on the outside because black is how she feels on the inside.

Please consider the girly color, and steal a different bike.

Like an emo Powerpuff Girl, we shall cruise the streets of Boulder.

Every time I see pink and black together like that I think of Good and Plenty candy :)

Looks sharp. Nice job. I'm looking forward to seeing pics of the finished bike all put back together.

Good & Plenty- the perfect name for that bike now.

Aaaargh! I took the tape off and I did a pretty good job masking the lugs. Unfortunately the top of the rear triangle somehow resurrected the wet paint off the drop cloth and got pink all over. So I sanded it down and went back to Home Depot, which used to be my favorite place, for more black paint.

Anyway, I started the clear coat, instructions said I could, and now the paint is goobering up in some weird places. Hopefully it will dry nice and tidy, but I'm over it. It still looks better than it did, and I wanna ride on Sunday. 17.7 miles to Lyons, one good beer and a burger, then I ride home. Figure if I bait myself with beer I can manage!
