Hey everybody. Just wanted to run an idea by you and see what you think. A few of us here in Orange County, CA are very excited and are preparing to open a gym called Triathica that is dedicated to the sport of triathlon. We will offer standard and specialized workout equipment ( Free weights, weight machines, vasa trainers, endless pools, computrainers, etc.) as well as coaching services to our clients. Our goal is to target experienced triathletes, intermediate and beginner triathletes, and also those people that have never participated in triathlon but find the sport and its health benefits appealing.

As far as we know there is no gym dedicated solely to triathlon in existence. We want to make the monthly fee around $50 and have coaching, training plans, nutrition counseling, and other services available for extra. We would really appreciate any feedback you may have on this idea. As triathletes, is this something you might be interested in? Feel free to ask as many questions or make as many constructive comments as you like.

On a scale of 1-10, what is the probability that you would join a gym like this if it was located near you?

How about opening a branch in New Jersey? I would go for sure.

If it was close by, yes. Gyms around here are way more expensive too. The endless pools would be such a perk.

A local work out place has a spinning class to train for a century ride. The class is always full.

Sounds like something I would be interested in for sure (if it weren't many states away). I want an endless pool myself, so those would be a great incentive for me to train there. Sounds like a great idea, and in the right market, would surely be very profitable for you and helpful for the community.

If it were near me? I'd be very interested. Especially if it provided a safe place for me to store my bike while I was working out . . . or bike rollers/trainers that I could use my own bike on.

I like the coaching/learning part of your idea.
