Wah! I'm feeling retarded right now, so I'm hoping someone here can help me. I created a map/directions in Google Maps that I now want to save into the "My Maps" section. How do I do this? I already know that I can create points in "My Maps" section, but it looks like I have to place the pin where I want it instead of just typing in an address. It seems really tedious to have to map my destinations in the "Search Result" section/tab, and then to have to go to "My Maps" and search the map there to find the same point and mark it. Is there a way to call up the addresses I've looked up previously in the "Search Results" tab that I can recall in the "My Maps" section?

P.S. Yes, I do know that I need to be logged into my google account to save maps.

Another question: I've downloaded the bike routes for the Portland area in Google Earth. Very cool feature BTW that is available to download from the Portland Transit site(I think). Is there a way to superimpose my destinations from My Maps onto it so that the bike map and my destinations appear at the same time?

I usually use Google Earth for that kind of stuff. I see you can't "add destination" in the My Maps section. What a bummer.
Google Earth will let you overlay the bike maps, though. If you search the Google Earth Community for the map, it's probably already been made into an overlay. You can turn that on from Google Earth.

Yeah, bummer. I did figure out a way to overlay pins onto my destination points, but then I still have to re-enter the addresses in the description box. I was hoping to find a way to avoid this and save myself some time.
