Our Hummers had babies this year. We were so excited when we found the nest. We got out a ladder and climbed up to see two tiny white eggs the size of jelly beans. They are growing really fast. I have been wanting to get pictures, but I have trying to keep my distance to avoid stressing them.

Here they are!!!!!!!!

We were up at our cabin this weekend and DH climb up on the roof to clean some debris out of the eves and found a surprise. He quickly put it back so momma wouldn't notice.

How precious!

We had a hummingbird nest right outside our window at work last year. One of the guys with a good camera took photos of them every few days, as they grew. It was SO cool to watch them grow and mature and Mama come feed them before they flew the nest.

ttaylor, any idea what kind of nestlings you have there? They look almost like bluebirds, but they are cavity dwellers so wouldn't have built a nest in your gutter. Baby bluejays, maybe? Neat!

We have a family of titmice (three juveniles, two adults) coming to our feeders and nearby trees lately, and it's lots of fun to watch and listen to them. Boy, can those babies make a racket!

I think those little guys look like blue jay's.
I had a nest of hummer's in our yard a couple years ago. It was so much fun. I set up my telephoto len's and would just sit and wait for mom. It was a neat experience! Doesn't take long for them to outgrow the nest

I don't know what kind of birds they are. I don't think they are blue jays or bluebirds as I saw the mom and she was not blue :)

They weren't in the gutter (its a log cabin so we don't have any gutters), the nest was in the log that supports the upper most pitch of the roof (does that make sense)? It was a really weird looking nest, at first I though it could be a rat nest EWWWW.

The baby hummingbirds are sooo cute. By the picture it is hard to tell how small they are. We have hummingbirds around our house and they just look so small when they come buzzing by. They are so quick you never really get a good look at them. Thanks for sharing the picture so we can finally see them up close for once!!!

Oh, how curious! They really do look like blue jays with their long beaks, and plenty of blue on them. Female bluebirds are very dull gray/blue, but I've seen a lot of bluebird nestlings, and these really don't have the right proportions, nor is the nest location right as bluebirds only nest in cavities (holes in trees or nestboxes).

If you ever happen to get a photo of Mama, I'd love to see it!

hmmm, now you have me curious too. I just thought they were cute baby birds, I never really thought what kind they might be. Here is a website I found with bird sightings in the area http://gbbc.birdsource.org/gbbcApps/report?cmd=showReport&reportName=CitySummary&city=ENTIAT&state=US-WA&year=2008. I hope they aren't woodpecker's (not a good home for them since it is a log cabin)!!!! It will be a couple of weeks before we get up there again, but if they are still there, I will try and get a picture of momma.

Any chance they are house wrens? They are cute regardless.
