Hey everyone again! I was wondering if I could get some help on what to DO for my BF on his bday, this Wednesday, June 26th. He is a cat 3 road racer and we have been together for almost 3 years. I've found him some gifts, have a card, but at a loss for how to celebrate. We are not one's for restaurants or bars and I'm not a spectacular cook (plus, I work later than him). Any ideas for something romantic, not too cheesy, and maybe cycling related?
Thanks!

Gift inspirations are endless...too bad you couldn't give him a smoothie drink that was whirled on a pedal-powered blender. I've seen such an innovation.
Is road racing the only type of cycling he does? He probably has all the gear he needs..short of buying him another bike...or helmet...or cycling socks. :)
I guess you're looking for something more innovative beyond a photo mousepad of him and you on bikes, etc. :)
I guess he would be offended if you gave him a razor and shaving cream..for his legs. :D
My partner cycles alot...but commuter and long-distance tourer. I've bought him for past b-days:
set of bike panniers (I've done this on 2 separate birthdays. Yea, he does ALOT of cycling); jerseys, skullcaps, socks, chain cleaner, bike wire sculpture, fleecy jacket, bike travelogue books, etc.

Shootingstar,
He is a cat 3 road and track cyclist. Yes, he has all the gear and then some, but is also very particular about what he likes, which makes buying anything bike related difficult. Last year, I got him a professional bike stand for working on and cleaning his bikes. It was a useful present, but not very exciting, and nowhere near romantic :) hahaha
I've thought of getting a picture of us together with our bikes and framing it, etc, but I've done that on other special occasions with a normal, non-biking picture. I don't think he is as "in" to pictures and stuff like that as I am, however. I did buy him a new cycling hat, as his is damaged, and a track biking shirt that looks cool and retro. Besides that, not sure what to do for him that evening. He says to surprise him. I just don't think gifts are that meaningful, especially for the guy who has everything. So that is where I am stuck :)

How about if you get him a musette bag like they have in the pro race feed stations, and fill it with all his favorite on bike snacks and energy drinks, maybe a new pair of gloves. Also put in massage lotion (bikers need masages, right? ;)) rent "Breaking Away" or "American Flyers" and have an easy dinner of pasta, followed by cake and a massage?
I'd be psyched if my bf got me that. Bike themed and romantic.
All cyclists can appreciate a massage! I think that's a great idea. (you could give it or hire someone)

My cycling BF is a cycling weight weenie and he was very excited to get (extremely overpriced yet very light and shiny) Ti pedals for christmas. Something he wouldn't buy for himself, but was happy to get as a gift. Does your partner have a similar cycling item wish list?
Massages are also a great idea. Or spa gift certificates.

Eden has the best idea so far. Massage is a great idea and maybe the best. And even if he is finicky when it comes to bike, you can't go wrong with a good sports/deep tissue massage.
