I never thought that I would be interested in cycling untill I saw my bf race last month. I loved the atmosphere and the excitement I could see in everyones faces! Sooo I decided to give it a try.:) I am doing this for the pure fun of it and also for the exercise. I am young and have a little bit of a belly after college and trying to get rid of it!!!
I just bought my first road bike, a Trek 1.2 WSD. My first time out I road 8 miles and have continued to do so the past 4 days. I am not sore at all so figured I might as well keep doing what I have been.
Again I am so new to this and really dont know anything! Any suggestions and tips would be appericated on starting out! Thanks :D

Hi Katie! Welcome to TE! You know, one of the perks of being a TE'er is you are *required* to share pics of your bike. ;) Your first ride out is pretty impressive at 8 miles. I remember doing maybe 2 and was glad to get back to the car. :o Keep up the good work and you'll be a lean machine in no time. :D

Hi katie
Hope you are as pleased as i am that we found this great site, there is so much encouragement and help here, it helped and gave me confidence no end. Glad you like to ride, the first time i rode a racing bike it was just under a mile and i thought i was going to die, that was around 9 months ago, just a couple of weeks ago i completed a 71 mile charity ride and i am still smiling about it, never ever thought i would do it but everyone here made me believe i could and they were right. Happy biking:D
