[B]Okay, I am a newbie who made a classic mistake. I bought a new pair of Nike Stelivo Clipless cycling shoes on Ebay. Well, they just arrived and they are far too small for me. The seller had them only listed as European size 36.5. I thought that translated to a US 7, but it didn't. I don't want these really nice shoes to just sit on a shelf. I paid $41.00, And would love to pass them on to someone who can use them for $40.00 I will pay the shipping!!
Here is the Description.
NIKE cycling shoes are one of the world's best and are the choice of many pro riders designed to hold up in competitive.

The lightweight synthetic-leather uppers resist stretching and are amazingly durable. The low-profile nylon soles are reinforced with fiberglass and provide stiffness even racers will appreciate. The Stelvio closes with two hook-and-loop straps for a custom fit.

[B]...listed as European size 36.5. I thought that translated to a US 7, but it didn't.

Actually, I've found that shoe sizes in biking shoes can't be trusted as far as a standard European to US size conversion. I wear a size 5 1/2 or 6 woman's shoe, but my Sidi Doms are a size 38, which supposedly translates into a women's size 7 1/2. Hmmm...

I did find a number of shoe size conversion tools via Google, but unfortunately they don't agree. This site - http://onlineconverters.com/shoes.html - says that a European women's 38 is a US womens 6 (which actually is the right conversion for my Sidi Doms), but this site - http://www.i18nguy.com/l10n/shoes.html#adult - says that a US women's size 6 is equal to a European 36. Go figure!

Thanks Denise. I think the later chart you describe matches these Nike. Just holding them in my hand I know they are a womens 6. I found a new pair at the local shop and I need a "39" I can wear 6.5-7.5 but typically wear a 7.

I am pretty worried about going clipless. I love reading all the advise. I road for 45 mins yesterday in heavy winds. I did pretty good for a beginner. Thanks to all for the encouraging posts. :)
