I got pics of me and the bike :) Here's one of me leaving the house with the bike folded up. All my gear is in the other bag:

And here's one of me standing next to the bike, before I start my ride.

Last week I ordered a Koobi saddle to try out, and it's been an experience after riding on the Brooks saddle. I like that I'm not getting so much pressure on the front, but I sure didn't have the same contact points on my rear end on this saddle as the other one! I'm going to give it a few more rides, then make a decision one way or the other. Anyways, I was riding this afternoon and all of a sudden something REALLY pinched on one side. I was like OMG, I can't ride like this! I schooched up on the saddle for a few minutes, then stopped where I was going to turn around on the trail. I realized when I stopped that my bike shorts had ridden up and were giving me a major wedgie! Well that wedgie moved something other than the nice shammy into that spot where I'd felt the pinching! Oops! I fixed my shorts, and finished my ride :)

welcome to TE! beautiful bike!
(and as soon as you can, you might try some tighter fitting shorts and you won't get wedgies.)

Love the color of that bike! And people think we wear lycra because we want to. It serves its purpose! :D

How much do those Bike Fridays weigh? Do they fold flatter than that? Is there some way to lock it into the folded position?
The way you're holding it in the first picture makes me think it's a little bit cumbersome, but it could be just the moment with you loaded down with your gear and everything.

LOVE your bike! What a great color (and with your matching pre ride shoes and helmet- you are good to go!). My pinching happens sometimes not because of my shorts, but because my skin gets pinched between my saddle and my thigh (didn't happen when I was thinner, but it sometimes happens now- oops).
Love the story- thanks for sharing. Enjoy your rides!!!! :)

The bike came with a strap attached to the seat post which, if I get everything aligned perfectly, will hold the bike in the "quick fold" position. I am less than perfect, so I use a bungee cord. Which has the additional benefit of not having to be rewound when I unfold the bike to ride, I just throw it into the trunk. Then I attach the luggage strap around the main tube, hold half the weight on my shoulder and (usually) the other half with one hand. It is a little bit cumbersome.
The stock weight on the model I have is 24lbs, without saddle or pedals. The quick fold is fine for carrying the bike in my trunk. I'd need to take off the front wheel to pack it in a suitcase. If I still had flat pedals on it, those might get in the way of a suitcase pack also, but I think the frogs would be okay.
Thanks everybody for the compliments :)

That bike is SWEEEET!
Is that a Terry skort? Other than the chamois having a mind of its own, how do you like it? I have one that I got from a fellow TE'er, but I haven't worn it riding yet. (I still feel like kind of a poser when I wear cycling shorts... :o )

Yes it's a Terry skort. I like it a lot. I do occasionally have the urge to fiddle with the skirt part while I'm riding, but I'm getting over that :)
Anastasia :)
You and your bike look like your ready for a fun adventure.
When you buy bike bottoms be sure the chamois fit snuggly to help avoid wedgies. I've found what I find to be comfortable in the dressing room isn't the fit I need on the bike.
When I'm riding and get pinched like that I always think of that old Honda Element commercial where the car is talking to a crab..."no peench" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBX0Jfr62Kc)

Let that skirt fly! Think of it as being Wonder Woman in a skort. :) I wear Terry skorts and riders get a kick out of seeing me boogie while it's waving good bye to the folks behind me.
Your bike is just about the cutest thing. I love your Mary Janes too. :)
