No cyclists were injured!

Hate to say it but my first reaction when I saw this on the news was "HA...serves them right!" (the people in the car, not the cyclists!)

Just happy everyone is OK and the jerks are caught! I hope they get more than a slap on the hand tho!!!

wow. All they had to be was a little calm and patient and they would have avoided bodily injury, a wrecked car, and trouble with the law.

on our ride last night; there was a very belligerent chartered bus driver. With loud blasts of his horn, he insisted on going through our line to get to the next red light. So we let him of course, not wanting to be injured. At the red light the whole group one by one passed him in the right turn lane. when the light turned, we were all ahead of him again.

Shame the article only included that one brief sentence explaining the purpose of the Ride of Silence.

The news stations are not skimping on the mention tho...which is what caught my attention while getting ready this morning!

It continues to get coverage this afternoon...

My friend, Fred, did the ride in Nashville last night. He said they had about 100 participants and even had police officers assisting them on motorcycles to allow them through traffic lights.

Shame the article only included that one brief sentence explaining the purpose of the Ride of Silence.

Actually, considering the police chase and subsequent rollover accident was the news and the bike ride was "filler," the writer did an excellent job of including this detail. Mentioning the Ride of Silence in his hook, and reminding us that the chase occurred because the driver endangered the riders who were involved had anyone who might actually think about what they're reading/hearing wonder, "what's that all about?"

Searching the site for "Ride of Silence" shows that this TV channel did a story about the ride on the same day, perhaps during each of their earlier in the day broadcasts:
