Whoo hooooo after complaining forever about how much I hated my old bike, I finally had a few days off from work and went bike shopping. I tried 6 different bikes and ended up falling for a ............................................
Giant FCR 3w!!! It is perfect for what I want. Something I can get on and ride that has some speed and is nice and responsive. I ride mostly for fitness but I am using my bike more now for running errands around town due to the cost of gas.
I am so excited to have a new bike!!!!
Here she is!!

I'm still tweaking the fit on mine.

Zen, I am 5'6 with a 30" inseam. I ended up with the small frame. I tried the medium and it felt just a bit to big but as soon as I tried the small it just felt right.
Which Trek is that Zen?
That's last year's 7.2.
This year's model is the girly powder blue which did not excite me.
The shop was having a close-out sale and when I saw the black with pink accents I said "SOLD!"
it's the next best thing to red ;)
It's 13" which probably equates to small. I have a 29" inseam.

Nice! My daughter bought a Giant FCR a couple of years ago. She has really enjoyed riding it. My husband, who rides the same size, likes it too. It's alot faster and smoother than his MTB.
I won't show her the picture of your smokin hot red bike, she'll want to up-grade! bikerHen

Think of it as a flashback to the 70's prom. Break out your ruffles. ;)

Oh I find it very icky too, but the 7.3 is quite attractive in my opinion :]

I can see where powder blue would turn you off...blech! I love the red and silver on my new bike, it just screams out RIDE ME!!!
One thing I did learn for the next time I go bike shopping (which won't be for a while) is too bring my own seat with me to use. Some of these bike seats on the bikes I tried felt like rocks. My butt was not happy!:p

Famous last words. When there's a bike in your bathtub, I'll believe you.

We bought the blue 7.2fx Trek for our daughter last month and she loves it. She's 11 and a bit more of a girly girl when it comes to colors. I like your red bike, very nice.

LOL, mine is the girly blue, and I love the color scheme. Which is weird 'cause I don't consider myself overly girly. :) :D
PS LoriO, congrats on your new bike!
My road bike is that powder blue.
Somehow it looks better on a road bike.

Congrats - very nice bike and choice. I thought about the FCR3 - couldn't decide on a flat or drop bar bike. By the time I decided to buy something, the only left over 2007 bikes was the OCR3W - a deal I couldn't pass up. Enjoy:):):)

The main thing is that you're happy with your choice - I reckon you'll use it a lot more than your old bike which you didn't like.

She really is a beauty and one of these days I may even get a chance to ride her :o . The day after I brought her home, my horse had a terrible reaction to a vaccine and I have spent the past few days taking care of her and trying to get her better.
At least I know my shiny new bike is there waiting for me!
